Huh that's really interesting. It seems like Wario seems to be more popular in certain developing countries/non mainstream gaming markets than in places like the US or Japan.
From my personal experience Wario is quite popular here in the US
but when I used to live on Mexico (lore drop) Wario was like EXTREMELY popular lol he even became a meme at some point I think..

Well, I'm pretty sure you don't need 10,000 coins on every level to do so. I suspect it'd just be beating all the bosses with all the treasure intact, though I've not unlocked it for a while.
