So the recent Nintendo Direct, we were able to really learn what the Switch 2 is gonna be along with some of the games we're getting. The games that were presented hype me a bit, especially with Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza and Kirby Air Riders. However, I'm more concerned about the system, we've seen that the menu is barely different, the tech demo game Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour will be 10 bucks which is pretty stupid since it's supposed to be tech demo, like Wii Sports or Astro's Playroom. And that seems to follow a similar themes with the prices we've been announced, the console will be $450 in America, £395 in the UK and €470 in Europe (and of course, I happen to live there). Plus, the game are said to be 70 to 80 bucks. Including Switch 2 Edition games which is basically paying for the same game but it was optimized for better hardware to meet the standards of PS4 game.
Furthermore, there will be key Game-Key Cards which meshes the hassle on downloading the game over the internet which isn't fast for a lot of people and having to insert the card to play it. And lastly, the Virtual Game Cards will make it so instead of having your games on all of your Switches that the account, you'll have to load and unload game cartridges which the only reason I see why they did this is to prevent account sharing.
All and all, it feels like Nintendo is doing a lot of anti-consumer moves, even more so than we're used to I'm afraid. The games that are getting released on it look great but the console itself is seriously something to be worried for. But there are some cool gimmicks to it such as the mouse and... yeah that's it. Everything else, are optimizations that the casual audience (which is Nintendo's main demographic btw) don't really care for.
