Still, it's more than Wario Land 3 ever saw in the past. The game doesn't exactly have much of a modding scene. It's rather for myself

I wouldn't try to create a hack if there was no potential ! Though the bar entry is too high for people whose interest is simply making levels (90% of people in romhacking scene) since these levels are intermingled with things that have little to do with platforming or puzzles but contribute massively to the game experience. The dubious platforming sequences and puzzles you sometimes experience in this game are bearable because you're enticed to see the next treasure and funny cutscene/event it will pop up afterwards on the very compact overworld. I don't see how you could recreate these things without programmation and animation skills, unless someone designs an editor with all sorts of templates to customize them to your needs, which sounds like a fever dream.Ah fair enough.
That said, I still think this game has plenty of potential. It's got transformations, level themes, enemies, bosses and mechanics Wario Land 4 doesn't have, plus an entirely different type of game design in general. There's room for mods of all the Wario Land games with their own unique flavours.
