I don't know a lot of Mother inspired game apart from Undertale/Deltarune and Omori (I know there's a lot, I just don't know them). Do they seriously all tackle super gloomy topics?

Except for Hylics, yeah, they all pretty much use the same plot.
It's always long, dramatic and centered around dealing with loss, change, and hardship. It's exhausting.
