Interestingly, the developer that developed Superman 64 (Titus Software) would later buy Interplay and well Interplay as it has existed since 2001 or so is basically Titus Software using Interplay's name,

Titus finally crumbled in 2005, not that it mattered, as they already had their hooks in Interplay's rotting corpse.
Interplay was once a proud, charitable company, helping many fledgling groups get their start in the world (including giants like Treyarch and Blizzard).

Today Interplay is just a small room full of precious gold, guarded by one of the most corrupt, sleazy, and bloodsucking businessmen the industry has ever known - Herve Caen (founder of Titus). He sits on a mountain of once-famous Interplay IPs, leeching money off them. Stuff he had no part in making, like Earthworm Jim, Descent, MDK, Fallout, ClayFighter, etc.

He should have been thrown in the slammer long ago, but he's like a cockroach that never dies. He pays no royalties to original developers, refuses to pay employees he hires, goes against court orders... You can't trust a word the man says, and he is the sole reason the downfall of Interplay is even more gruesome than the downfall of Rare.

Last year he said he was finally selling off all the old Interplay IPs in a bundle, yet he went back on that statement, like every other before it. He just hangs on to them, trying to milk money for nothing while the old fans get nothing.

A while ago he hired a team of hopeful developers to develop a ClayFighter remaster, which would remaster all three games in one package including all the missing content left out from the originals.
They were so passionate about making it, they tried to fund the project with their own money (because that crook refused to pay them or even give them the designs and clay models from the original games!) They had to abandon the project because they went broke and had no tools or material to build the remaster.
I usually give people the benefit of the doubt, but Herve Caen continues to crush my childhood dreams. He's a parasite to business and creativity alike.

That was the best story I'v read. I hope Herve Caen gets what he deserves!

I moreso hope Interplay's old IPs can see the light of day once again.

All is probably lost now. All we can do now is hope.
