Sadly, I have to agree. Nothing can beat "classic" WarioWare. (Mega Microgame$, Twisted, Touched and Smooth Moves are what I consider classic WarioWare.)
Diamond City varies widely from game to game in layout, location, size, etc. The only things we know for sure are that it's a fairly large, modern city with a subtropical climate and a small island off its shores, where Dr. Crygor's lab is located.
Well, according to Super Mario Wiki, it's a combination of cryogenics; a branch of physics concerned with extremely low temperatures, and Igor, the name of the stereotypical mad scientist's little assistant.

Sounds more like Jungle Hijinx from DKC to me, but given that River City Girls 2 is developed by WayForward, who also made the Shantae franchise whose first game draws a fair share of inspiration from Wario Land, it may not be that unlikely.
I think most people already know about Gravity Falls, although personally, I only watched the first season, but I know it's only in season 2 that shit gets real. In the first season, he's more of a background character, and that season is in hindsight basically an entire prologue to the true plot.
