Terrormisu is basically the actual Walpeach, right?

I think on the surface this makes sense, though Terrormisu's resemblance to Peach is purely coincidence and not something intentional like what Wario was originally trying to do to Mario. I want to bring up this Tumblr post for making an excellent point that being a "Wa" character isn't just...

Seems this game may be a Wario Land/WarioWare inspired mix...

I gave the Steam demo a playthrough and... yep, still can't fully comprehend what I'm playing! It's great, though I wouldn't say there's much gameplay inspiration from WarioWare, moreso just an absurdist story and visuals that would be at home there.

Seems this game may be a Wario Land/WarioWare inspired mix...

I could barely comprehend that trailer... so onto my wishlist it goes! It reminds me of old computer freeware in a nostalgic way, and those animations are delightful.

    Wario Land Sprites

I think Wario Land 4 is objectively the best, there's a meticulous attention to detail in a lot of the spritework. The only thing I don't love about it is that the colors are a bit too bright, likely to compensate for the original GBA's lack of backlight, but it is a very beautiful game. Virtual...

What is this enemy meant to be?

Part of the "thought they were bats" train... after all, birds usually have beaks and not fangs. Though I also though the green part of their face was a pig-like nose, and the two little dots its nostrils. But when you defeat one, they're revealed to be eyes as shown in this sprite sheet! Funny...

Mario's Nightmare Quest (Wario content inside)

Ooh, I'm curious how those fire boulders are animated. Does the sprite rotate along the ground like in Wario Land 4, or did you have to manually make a spritesheet with each frame rotating?

Is anyone else kinda annoyed with how obsessed games have been with difficulty?

Yes, Pizza Tower definitely has a low enough skill floor for casual players to get to the end and have fun along the way. There's just also a sizeable chunk of the game that is designed around much higher ceilings, namely the P ranks. There may also be a case of sequels having higher skill...

    Games you just finished.

It's already time for me to round out my discussion of this trilogy, because I'm officially hooked on the good Professor! Again, I must spoil my lengthy writings, but if you want a summarized opinion... consider my socks rocked!!

Is anyone else kinda annoyed with how obsessed games have been with difficulty?

There is also definitely a tendency for recent games to be designed around high ceilings, that is to say the ability for a player to perform perfectly takes a lot of skill. Pizza Tower is a good example, having a player character with a ton of moves that chain into each other in a speed-focused...

Is anyone else kinda annoyed with how obsessed games have been with difficulty?

Hm... I think this is partially personal taste speaking, but there is a point that a fair chunk of recent popular games have a level of difficulty higher than average. I would say the type of difficulty is different from older games; many older titles gain their difficulty from trial and error...

    Let's break some ice!

Favorite WarioWare is still D.I.Y.! Though that may change if I ever get around to playing the newer ones. I'm sorry to say picking out my favorite microgames from each title would be quite arduous, so I'll just say one I'm particularly fond of: Grow Wario Grow. I love it not only for the Wario...

Mario Tennis Do you like Baby Waluigi?

You know what, I'm glad he's not only finally here, but also created under Camelot's supervision. I'd feel less appreciative if he initially showed up in Mario Kart or something, but Waluigi's original creators getting to experiment with a persistent concept from other Mario games, using their...

    Fan Art (Wario Land Edition)

The sprites for this just got uploaded on The Spriters Resource! I love how puppet-like Wario is here; he looks ready to audition for Burgermeister Meisterburger.

    Games you just finished.

I hope this thread is ready for it's own Layton era, because after clearing the first game I was too eager to clear the sequel! Though perhaps I should start spoiling these since I'll likely have more and more to say each time...

Hmm, what do the other Wario World bosses look like in this manga?

I actually got this manga a while back, because the entire 4-book series portrayed elements from Wario World, Master of Disguise, and Shake It. ( was hoping a certain character from the latter would appear... but she doesn't. Cgrrr: I can get some pictures of the other World bosses once I get...

    Games you just finished.

It's a new year, which means it's time for me to catch up on my gaming bucket list! Only problem is, I had no idea where to start... but I got off my indecisive bum and picked a game, which I thankfully enjoyed enough to complete in one sitting! My game of choice is a vintage classic of course...

    Let's break some ice!

I used to not be big on TV, but I've been tuning in more ever since I got a new one with Tubi built in. The first thing I checked out was all 13 episodes of The Oblongs, which I thought were alright. Recently I've been rewatching Archer, though it's honestly getting quite boring... the show...
