Okay that's a pretty neat easter egg! Don't see too many blatant Wario Land references in indie games, at least outside of Wario Land successors like Pizza Tower and Antonblast.

Given all the other references, it feels like it wouldn't be surprising if it was a deliberate tribute. Feels like they're referencing spinoffs in more subtle ways.

From what I can tell it doesn't seem to be the Mario Kart World version of Wario's Shipyard, since the player isn't anywhere near that track in the footage (they seem to be near Choco Mountain instead). Which kinda makes me wonder why it plays here and not in the area leading to either of...

Very nice to see! Given that another costume seems inspired by Boshi and there are remixes of songs from Wario Land and Yoshi's Story, it seems there's a fair bit of spinoff representation here.
