    Bait Thread

Wahaha! A perfectly Wario styled bait and switch! Alas, I have lost all hope in any new Wario Land games long ago... I cannot be fooled, but I enjoy your tenacity! :wariocaraltalt:

What do you have in common with Wario?

I'm lazy and I love treasure and exploring. I also love garlic. I've started doing all the exercises Wario does (overhead press, bench, jump rope, and more! :pumpit::wargh2:) so that I can also be as strong and powerful as he is. Hopefully this will help me to one day get my very own castle...

'Ey, are these forums still alive?

I still enjoy posting here, despite the lack of activity. Glad to know I'm not the only Wariohead holding on for dear life out here. :wahlaughback:

Seems someone created Luigi graphics in the style of Wario Land II...

Very cool! I wish I was more knowledgable about making hacks, would be fun to put together a project with some of these types of assets. Maybe even make some of my own!

Who are your favorite greedy bastards in video games, besides Wario himself? (mild spoiler warning)

Tingle, hands down. Wario is the man I look up to, and strive to be. Tingle is the man I really am deep down inside. Play the DS games if you haven't, they're a lot of fun!

Wario Land Shake It's Marketing Campaign Was Mentioned in a Book...

Such a bummer that it didn't work out, I remember that video vividly, and still have my copy of Shake It! to this day! They should release a port of the game on Switch, as I hate setting up my Wii.

What's the creepiest Wario Land boss?

Both. Humanoid rabbits have always scared me since I was a child.

Someone tracked down the Wario Land 4 voice samples!

lol, nice to see there's been even more progress made since I last checked in on this thread. We're narrowing in on the files we need!

What's the creepiest Wario Land boss?

I still gotta say, for me it's either Catbat or the Sports Rabbit. The latter weirds me out for reasons I cannot fully explain.

Someone tracked down the Wario Land 4 voice samples!

Man, this is so crazy! Just think if we completely remastered the intro song... we could cruise down the road on our own adventures listening to the same exact song Wario was listening to!

Share your Wario Land remixes/covers here!

It's so hard to find some Wario Land 4 remixes! I'd love to commission a remix of the title screen song someday...

Congratulations, man! (I actually love the golf minigame Grrr::warioicon:)

Is Wario Land 4 basically a 'perfect game'?

His eyes aren't lacking pupils. They just kind of merge with the outline of the hat, they're looking up and are towards the top right of the eye.

Why is Wario Land a less popular series than Kirby or Yoshi's Island?

No offense taken! :p I actually do agree with most of what you've said, although I still think Shake It is fairly different from 4. I don't think there's anything wrong with taking things that worked well in old games and re-using them, although you're definitely right in that changing up the...

Is Wario Land 4 basically a 'perfect game'?

I think 4 does a lot of things better than 2 and 3. Both of those are great games mind you, but they can be a little frustrating since it's essentially puzzle based and bosses revolve around not getting hit at all. Bringing back health was a good idea imo, and the design overall is just a lot...

Why is Wario Land a less popular series than Kirby or Yoshi's Island?

I'm not sure if it's been touched upon, but it probably came from Nintendo trying to diversify their game types. Warioware was popular and different enough to give Wario his own flavor outside of platformers (where Mario was their main IP for that). On top of that Master of Disguise was iffy...

    [Poll] Best Wario Land villain?

I understand people liking Rudy, but he doesn't really have the staying power of Captain Syrup and her pirate crew. His thing worked for the one game gimmick of the music box world, and while he could always come back in some other incarnation, it makes more sense to have Wario rivaling another...

VB Wario Land was seemingly going to be called Wario Cruise at some point

Wario Cruise works well considering it has kind of a safari adventure vibe going on. I really thought this was a shoe-in for a remake on the 3DS, in which case they could have used that name to great effect, but sadly we never got anything.
