An interesting video about a Wario Land revival concept...

I don't see the point of doing another WL4 adventure, concept has already been milked out with Shake It, Pizza Tower and Antonblast. I'd rather see someone try to perfect the WL3 formula with its evolving overworld/levels, consequential treasures and cute cutscenes. It's harder to pull off than a bunch of doors in a hub or a gallery of meaningless trophies but much more interesting imo.

That's an interesting point actually. Wario Land 4, Shake It, Pizza Tower and AntonBlast have taught people that the 'Wario Land formula' is about running to the entrance of the level, while nothing indicates that's really the case.

Not sure I'd want the game to be too like Wario Land 3 either though. Feels like a new Wario Land game at this point needs to do something incredibly different in terms of gameplay and mechanics, not just repeat and build on one of the older formulas.

I agree with that. Every 2 games, the series changes formula by keeping some elements of the older games.

WL1 and VB: First Wario games.
WL2 and 3: Focus on puzzle mechanics. Kept the base Wario moveset
WL4 and Shake It!: Runback timer. Kept reactions

So it only makes sense that it'd be something new but still keeping some of the older games mechanics.

I'm for the WarioWare cast showing up, but Waluigi being there would just be lazy. He's always been more of a Mario character than a Wario one.

I also don't agree with the escape sequence being a necessity for every level. A few escape sequences would be cool, but I don't think it needs to be the whole premises. It feels like it's been done enough times with the successors.
