So, any recommendations?

I already asked on Gaming Reinvented, but some people here have popular Youtube channels with that sort of thing too, so I thought I'd bring it up here as well.

What do you guys use? And what would you recommend, quality wise?

My mic is a LyxPro LDC-10 Cardioid Condenser Studio. It's basically how it sounds like in the videos I do. I like the quality over the price, but of course, there are way better MICs out there...

EDIT: I should add that I don't know how to use it, so it might even sound better than what's on video. There's a demonstration video on the review page of the link I sent.

I used to use a turtlebeach earforce X12 back when I was a countdown maker, It was a pretty good headset microphone.

None.

I hate watching vids of games with some knucklehead yacking over it. How am I supposed to know what the game is like with all that noise? I don't get why Let's Plays are so popular. They always annoyed me. I just want to watch some footage of a game and make my own impression.

Wow, first person that I can relate to. I usually made silent, game only videos I would call "playthroughs". Now I'm doing let's plays 'cause people like them a lot more...

Let's Plays almost feel like the movie version of playing a game in terms of the popularity they get and accessibility relative to the source material.

True, and the really reason why there's let's plays is because if people don't talk, all videos would be overall the same. Viewers now look for personalities, someone to entertain, reactions to the game, stories. What gets the fame is the LPer, not the game footage, sadly...

I don't plan to talk over every video. My plans are for theory/discussion videos and Let's Plays to have commentary, and normal walkthroughs/glitch showcases/other miscellaneous stuff to have no voice overs.
