Did Queen Merelda and the Merfles invade the Shake Dimension?

Frediculous

Get ready for a wall of text. This is something I was wondering about Shake It's lore. Perhaps I'm way overthinking a plot that was meant to be insanely simple, but I noticed the Shake King's face on a lot of buildings and structures that look like they've existed for a very long time. For example, the Shake King's stone head at the end of Whoopsy Desert, on the wall that Rollanratl holds up, and the massive Casino adorned with neon lights of the Shake King and Bandineros in Glittertown and Neon City.

From what I understand of the plot, the Shake King's invasion happened around the same time Captain Syrup stole the globe containing the Shake Dimension, possibly the night before Wario received it. It seems highly unlikely to me that the Shake King's armless minions would be able to build the stone structures and especially the casino in just that night, implying that perhaps they might have lived in the Shake Dimension long before the invasion. Also take note of the names of the continents, and even the dimension itself. The continents are all named after a form of shaking, the entire place is called the Shake Dimension, and the ruler is...Queen Merelda. That doesn't seem to add up to me. Perhaps I missed some details, but there also doesn't seem to be any evidence of the Merfles having occupied the land beforehand. No buildings, statues or structures resemble them if my memory serves me correctly. What do you guys think?

TL;DR: Did the Shake King and his minions actually rightfully rule the Shake Dimension before Queen Merelda and the merfles came along?

Well, it's certainly a possibility. As you say, there doesn't seem to be much evidence of a Merfle civilisation in Wario Land Shake It, and the Shake King's face is displayed everywhere in the world there.

But at the same time, you've also got to keep in mind that rebranding a location can be done pretty quickly, especially in fiction. I mean, look at Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story. The whole world has basically been Fawfulised, yet we know that only happened within the last day or two. If the Shake King is powerful enough to conquer all of the Shake Kingdom, rebranding it after himself doesn't seem too implausible there.

And while the Bandineros don't have hands, nor do the Goombas in the Mario series. They just... use some sort of low powered telekinesis to move stuff around.

Still, your theory is one worth thinking about.

Perhaps Merelda only owns a specific region of the globe, whilst Shake King holds the other half similar to the Mushroom/Koopa Kingdom dichotomy.

Bandinero's definitely use objects, besides the super rare Buccaneros, the Boomdinero, which are just regular red Bandinero's in armor, have shield hands and all can carry garlic/coins/tridents.

If you ask me, I think we should look at the age-old saying "history is written by the winners".
The "good guys" are always the ones who won the war and the bad guys the ones who lost.
In this case, the Merfles are the "good guys" because uhhh they UMM say they are??? and their ruler's a total cutie damsel so there's no way they're the invaders??? Like no waaayyyy??

Great theory though, really dig potential plot twists like this
