General Wario references thread (Now with Index on page 13).

Oh god! How come none of us remembered this?
Dr. Mario 64 is FULL of Wario Land 3 characters!!!

The Wario car isn't just in Mario Kart Double Dash!! :

It's also in the second Arcade Mario Kart:

The "Brute" from Mario Kart DS is also heavily based of it:
Brute.jpeg

( Gotta love that recycled Wario btw)

The Wario from Mario Super Sluggers' Wario City:
WarioFareDay.png

Bears a striking resemplence to Warios outfit in Wario Ware Snapped:
WarioUtusu-1.png

Sure they aren't exactly the same but both games first coming out in the same year and the Diamond Cityesque look of the, well city leave the possibility of an intentional reference open.
Oh and Sluggers is the sequel to Superstar Baseball, so that helps my case as well...

The intro of Mario Party 2 has two nice little moments:
Wario want's to rename Mario Land into Wario Land:
20141022_132300-1.jpg

Which is funny because Wario pretty much replaced the Mario Land series around that time.
Wario rams head first into the others, similar to the running headbut move in Land 4:

Mario Party 2 came before Land 4 but it's still a cool little bit of trivia.

I'l put all of the posted references from other threads here, so that they are all in one thread.

Warios sleeping animation in Brawl, looks a lot like the one from Lands 2 & 3:

The wild swing ding is one of Warios throws in Smash.

The Wario Courth in Mario Tennis 64 has some Land 3 elements, like the theme song, keys, treasure chests and an odd resemplance to the Desert Ruins level:

Warios factory from Mario Power Tennis has Ware styled artworks and a remix of Wario Worlds hub world theme.
The warehouse courth from Mario Tennis Gbc has the Land 3 theme and Warios plane.
Wario Dunes from Mario Tennis Open has the Land 3 theme
First posted by: Me, thought CM30 mentioned parts of Warios Factory in this thread already.

I found three little references in the arcade Diamond City race track, the pics aren't very good unfortunately, since I had to rely on videos...
There is a castle that looks similar to the one in Ware:

A path that mimics Warios house, from the first game:

And a Wario World styled gold statue:

There is also another interesting detail in Superstar Baseball (yes that game again )
Toad and Wario share bad chemistry in that game, which of course, brings Warios Woods to our minds:

Three cool references from Mario Sports Mix:
Warios special move in all sports, is the Wario Ware bomb
(which is yellow, for some reason) :
20141025_235828-1.jpg

The second part of Warios tackle combo in ice hockey, has him do a shoulder charge like air tackle:
20141026_000332-1.jpg

And the final hit is an good old fashioned ground pound :
20141025_235956-1.jpg

I'l try to make better pics for the last two, but making these was already tedious enough, so please excuse them for now.

First of: here are the promised ,improved Sports Mix pics of Warios charge and pound:

Let's also take a look at Mario Kart 64's Sherbet Land :
Sherbetland64.jpeg

It's an icey island with penguins wandering around.
The Wario Land level of the same name has a similar location:
Sherbert_land.png

And an penguin boss:
Penguinwl.png

Weird isn't it ?
Oh yeah, let's take a look at this little gem, from Mario Party e :
WarioBluff.jpeg

It's the Wario car and the spritework on Wario is very similar to his Land 4 incernation!

The Bucket fron Mario & Wario has gotten a couple of references.
Once as a Trophy in Meele:
Trophy212.png

Another time in Mario & Luigi Bowser's inside story, when Junker ( a boss in the game ) drops it on one of the brothers, causing them to wander around aimlessly, like in M&W :
20141026_180327-1.jpg

And it's also a collectable treasure in Kirby superstar's great cave offensive:
KSSU_Treasures.png

It's the third item in the third row.

Wario's plane appears in the obscure japanese Mario & Kirby educational video "Mario Kirby Meisaku Video" :

It's even on the cover, reusing the Mario & Wario artwork:

We all know that Wario's victory theme in Smash is actually Stonecarving City:

But it doesn't just stop there, they also put a small part of it in Brawl's Waluigi pinball remix:

Around the 54 second mark.

Not a game, but Ko Takeuchi's art archive has a lot of designs very similar to his WarioWare(Rhythm Heaven work (duh?). I swear there was one identical to the dog reporter in the intro of G&W but I can't be arsed to dig in the twitter log to find it.

On the other hand, I have absolutely no idea who this totally original character may be based off.

Do you think that this guy:

may be an intentional reference to Jimmy T. ?
It could just be a coincidence but those shoes and afro...
