And I don't mean an expanded Gamer, but something bigger that involves the two of them together.

Since Nintendo is their main thing, should it involve going through many different Nintendo worlds?

Unlikely for them to have their own game, if anyone from Warioware got their own game it would be Wario and Ashley.

But let's say for the sake of it we were in an alternate dimension where everything was weird, like 9-volt being popular. His game would probably be an RPG, a fun one at that in the world of Diamond city.

edit - and you'll have to collect old video games to play from everyone around by doing missions.

I imagine a game where they go through various genres and play styles.
Like Sidescrollers, FPS, Jump and run, beat'em ups, Rpg and such.

As for the story: Dr.Crygor invited them for his newest invention: A virtual reality helmet. They try it out without any hesitation to experience the ultimate gaming experience.
But they get trapped and have to defeat the final boss (who's bossfight consists of multiple faces with various playingstyles) to escape.
