So, in 2015, Bandai Namco allowed Japanese developers to use their 17 franchises from 80's (Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig-Dug and many others) for time-limited cameos and new mobile games in the series. Now, there are more games (Some are from another developers, like Joe and Mac), but I havent seen any of those released, so I'll focus on Namco- related stuff. All new games are coming out only in Japan for IOS and Android devices.

We need an edgy grim-dark Dig Dug retelling just like Bomberman act zero.
That would explain his "blue face" decasese. :drcrygor: Mappy goes here too (White skin on posters, Grey in games.)

You know what we really need. Something like Tinkle Pit. Tons of references to 80-s classics and some new ideas. That would be cool.

I just realised- Japanese people has 4 Pac-Mans, 4 Mappys and 5 Xeveous-es without many of us knowing that. Now I want this project to be worldwide even more.

Tekken, sometimes Pac-Man and... Namco museum?

Don't really count any ports like those namco museum stuff, Tekken that makes sense and Pacman is really bland unless it's his first ever arcade game.
Remember they also made Starfox Assault which did include Xevious as an extra game. Namco should be making games similar to those with those neat older game unlocks as rewards.

I'm hoping for a brand new pole position though, had it on my old 2000's pc years ago and it was the most fun I had that and Dig Dug.

Yes, I remember preety good Mario kart Arcade and one of first Air Combats... Oh, this one is still allive too.

Speaking of Star Fox:

It feels weird to bring this thread back to life, but I really need to.

I think creating this thread as whole was a mistake for 2 reasons: 1)There are not too many Wario fans out here who know and love Namco Arcade 80's as much as I do (If there are really any). 2) I really had to create this thread in April First, which itself was a poor timing, not only because April Fools day, but also announcement Open IP had a day earlier, that I missed: Since that day, new projects will no longer be accepted (Thankfully, leftovers are still getting released up to this day). And this site (カタログIPオープン化プロジェクト) will shut down March 31, 2020- Around a year and 3 month.

Looking back at everything we got from this project: There is not much of it. There are few good games we got, but since all of them were made by indie devs and sudents, they were basically shot in a dark. And now that I think about it, I glad it stayed in Japan: It could be a mess for Bandai Namco to deal with, if we got access worldwide.

Finally, there are few more videos related to this weird Creators Programm:

Official trailer:

Pac-Man in Mega Run:

And what seems to be the only Stream of few games released under Open IP:

I still missed some stuff, but I don't think it's all that important. At the end of the day, this creators programm is just unimportant part of Namco's history, and the one, nobody seems to care about, and will be forgoten in two years or so. And it's fine- because Namco Museum is what seems to be the only reason, anyone remembers these old 8-bit time wasters, made by Namco, whose name is not "Pac-Man". And there seems to be no future for them anyway.

So... Anything to say?

As far as namco stuff comes up I'm really only interested in the Tales series and will start to play Vesperia pretty soon. The 80s stuff of Namco never really peaked my interest as other arcade companies such as SNK, though really did enjoy Dig Dug, Pole Position, Mrs Pacman and that's about it. They better have pole position and a new pole position game cross over with F-Zero only way I could really care for something Namco related as of now that isn't Tales series.
