Oh god I want a Wario Land 1 remake like this...

The sprites look like they clash with the background mainly Captain Syrup's and Pirate Goom's look a bit augmented since the background does look similar to wario master of disguise as well as reminds me of kirby super star spring breeze sprites. It isn't a bad redesign with the sprites though upgrading it from the GB is perfect and I really like the addition of the Pirate Goom's wearing Wario's hat or well it seems they're Wario's Gooms now. Having Captain Syrup playable is a huge plus as well.

It'd be a real nice idea if they're able to create more puzzles or so that would have fit some of the other wario land's as well. Just giving WL1 remake that much more of a WL2, or 3 feel in that way as the first WL1 played very and acted very similarly to SML2.

"SYRUP LAND" would make for a truly unique and intriguing little side quest after beating a main Wario Land quest. Wario already has a history of minions to dip into, so he doesn't need to use Gooms wearing Wario hats. Think of the many different monsters, bosses and opponents found in both versions of Wario's Woods, as well as Mario Land 2's equally unique stable of baddies. There's a wealth of potential with all those unique creeps and critters.

I'd love to see them dust off those old characters.

Also, Wario in a full-fledged villain role again would be awesome.

As would Syrup as the protagonist.

Fuck it, I really want this game. Fund it.

Agreed. I fell in love with Wario in his first role: a twisted greedy conqueror. He invaded and turned Mario Land into his "private playground".
He then stormed Kitchen Island, planting "W" flags across the land in his crusade for a castle. In Wario's Woods he was invading peaceful woodlands and ruling them with his band of weird monsters and allies. In Wario Blast he invaded Bomberland and infiltrated the underground to claim the land and its treasures as his own. This theme even continued with "Wario's Battle Canyon" in the original Mario Party on N64!

That's the Wario I want to see again! Wario and Syrup have so much potential as feuding, power-hungry treasure hunters.

I agree wholeheartedly! It's a side of Wario I'd definitely like to see again.
