Waluigi confirmed for Mario Tennis Ultra Smash!

Anyone who does that is a moron. I mean, like a character all you will, but pre ordering a whole game because of them is just nuts.

Why even preorder? This game isn't going to sell out or become hard to get. There aren't any pre order bonuses as far as I'm aware of(which is fine with me since I hate that practice).
 
GameXplain had footage of the main menu in this video.

- No Tournament mode
- No Ring Shot mode
- No options menu (WTF?)
- No gimmick courts or unlockable courts
- The renders on the character select screen are final
- Not only does the game not have an opening CGI cutscene, but it doesn't have an opening period; it just abruptly starts

Mario Power Tennis is my favourite Mario sports spinoff. why cant i get a worthy successor ;-;

So this game has the same amiibo functionality as Smash Bros., so do you think we'll get new amiibos in the Super Mario line for the characters who do not have one already (Waluigi, Daisy, Boo and more...)?

My god that would explain everything

I was gonna complain about amiibos a few posts back but I didnt wanna sound like a party pooper with my blatant hate on em... i think its kinda justified by now

theyre prioritizing giving amiibos some use over content because they know they will sell more even if the game doesnt, arent they

I have a feeling they meant to do amiibo board dlc for mario party 10 and release the 2nd wave of super mario amiibos in conjunction with that, but scrapped that when mp10 flopped

so they're using this game instead

that... sounds incredibly accurate actually o3o

really hoping it doesnt become the standard tho, like... using the game as a means to make people buy amiibos

USG: Was the original concept behind Amiibo Festival to create an Animal Crossing Game that involved Amiibos? Or did the idea come along first and then the Amiibo integration was something that added in later in the Development Cycle?

AK: Initially when the Amiibo was announced, there was nothing really said about Animal Crossing Amiibos or any plans for that matter. But as the Animal Crossing team, we were confident that if there was one, it would be really cute... honestly, we just wanted Animal Crossing Amiibo.

Was anyone really doubting that Waluigi was not going to be in a Mario Tennis game? The same series that he made his first appearance in.
