Wario Land The Shake Dimension is on Virtual Console

Only in Europe and Australia at the moment, but I expect it in the US and Japan too give or take a few weeks. It's apparently came out on April 7th 2016, aka today.

So yeah, maybe Nintendo might support the Wario series again if we buy this, along with the Wario Land and WarioWare games on the 3DS and Wii U Virtual Consoles.

Yeah, VC sales matter too, right? However many it gets, it should make Nintendo more aware of it somehow.

For a moment I thought a new Wario Land was on the wii u now.

I'm downloading it at the moment, being the kind of weirdo that buys every single VC Wario release including three versions of NES Wario Woods, don't judge for the sake of showing support, you could be certain that I'd jump onto this as well, plus it will serve as a good excuse to play the game again, once I feel like slowing down with my current Madou Monogatari binge.
