Haha! This kind of stuff is exactly why Wario has such an entertaining personality compared to the main Super Mario cast. Little touches like this that have nothing to do with gameplay (and thus would be deemed superfluous by Miyamoto, it seems) but just help to make the character you're playing as feel more like an actual character.
