I resigned from Nintendo at the end of February. Starting in April, I will be working as a professor at Osaka Electric Communication University. My affiliation will be the newly established "Game and Social Design Major." I plan to engage in research related to games and game production, so I hope to connect with an even broader range of people in various ways than before.

Hats off to Goro Abe, and thank you for your services and involvement with WarioWare. Enjoy your retirement.

Really unexpected, but maybe not so because there's been a bunch of senior but not so senior departures recently (Tanabe, Hideki Kono, etc). Wonder what's next.

Honestly, it seems like the older generation is stepping away from active game development at Nintendo, and the younger devs are stepping in, which is nice to see. I do kinda wonder if Eiji Aonuma or Yoshio Sakamoto will retire at some point in the near future, though I somewhat doubt Miyamoto has many plans to given his involvement in the movies, theme park and business side of the company.

Curious what it means for WarioWare going forward too.
