WarioWare's Director has resigned from Nintendo

Golly. So many overreactions on Twitter. (And probably anywhere else. Especially the kids(?) too attached to the WarioWare Characters.)

Worst case scenario is that there will be no more WarioWare games and Wario will regelated to being playable character in Mario Spin-offs. Or it may continue anyway without him and we still get a Wario Land somehow.

So in less than six months. Three directors have retired from Nintendo.

I really that doesn’t mean the official WarioWare site won’t be taken down this year. That would suck.

Then again. I cared less of Nintendo so maybe it’s not for me anymore.

Eh, it's a complete overreaction for sure. These folks are getting older, and they're less interested in working on the same things after decades at the company. Their departures don't mean "oh, those series are now dead". They'll have someone else there to pick up the slack and continue things at some point, especially if an audience still exists. Remember when everyone thought the Mario & Luigi series was dead until Brothership was revealed?

Nintendo doesn't just let a series with any real level of popularity die out due to staffing changes.

I do wonder what the series may look in the future. Looking at past games, most of the WarioWare games were co-directed by someone else so it may not mean much will change.

Seems Goro Abe has left Nintendo now:

So, how will this affect the series going forward? I wish him a great retirement either way!

I feel that the series isn't dead since anybody could like take over, or at least anybody that Nintendo puts them on...however, what it could show if the series is actually dead or not is "who" that person is. Different directors of different IP series would not be eternal, and some stop things that could further help the series even. Like, Miyamoto being an example of him demanding them to not be too creative with the mario characters fofr the RPG series is not helping them to get them a personality or an uniqueness that it was present back then. But then there are situations in which, the IP could be lend and keep the basis of what makes it what they are. Like for example on the Persona IP, the director and his team had to previously prove themselves and did so with Catherine and Persona 5 so they could move to Metaphor.
Or Yuji Horii, he wants to go for more 20 years but, who knows if he would be able to due no one having life purchased....yet, apparently he has a succesor for when his time is come, same as in some cases in manga.

I hope Goro Abe enjoys his retirement, and that the one in charge keeps the core intact but is allowed to try new things for the IP
