I feel like fan game criticism usually sucks. It's either to extremely positive or negative. You have some people who will praise every fan game to death without even giving the slightest of criticism, calling the game better than the official ones and the compnay (which is usually Nintendo or Sega) should hire them even when it's just a demo. And on the other side, the people who will tear to shred every fan game just because it's fan made therefore it's bad and amateur. Legit, I've seen people talk about fangames like they got scammed or something, you can't just go as harsh with a fangame like you would to an official game, no matter how popular it may be (like there's some people who just loooooove to make you awere that what you like is the worst thing ever concieved). Like they say "Real games are made in C++ and not in game engines" but the guy is coding the game in his free time after work/school give him a break.

Basically, my final word please for the love of God stop trying to act like expert game reviewer when you critcize a free game that has a tiny budget if at all and stop saying "[COMPANY], hire this man!" at every thing. The more you do it and the more the fangame haters will grow.

My opinion is that I feel no works should be above criticism or review, but also that said criticism and reviews should be constructive in nature too.

Which I try to make sure is the case for any reviews I write or record. Generally, even the ones I'm most disappointed with have some things they do well and some examples of missed potential that could be expanded upon to make something great. Those that don't I tend to avoid reviewing nowadays, simply because tearing apart a trainwreck for 3 hours is less exciting than it used to be.
