It was the second game in the series, fits nicely into whatever 'canon' might exist and is as equally important as any other Wario Land title, so why did it get called 'Virtual Boy Wario Land'?
When they couldn't find an original title, I think virtual boy wario land is actually better than wario land 2. I prefer titles like shake it though, instead of a number or a platform title.
