Anyone played the new Mother 1 remake?

It's wild that it actually got finished after being in development for nearly 20 years. Huge props to the team for sticking with it and not giving up.

So far I'm loving the hell out of it. It genuinely feels like an official SNES game that Nintendo could've released outside of Japan, kinda like how they handled Super Mario Bros 2 The Lost Levels.
Gonna be blunt, I need to figure out how to spend less time on social media, and maybe the internet as a whole. My attention span has basically been destroyed by it

Take a break from phones and other electronics for a bit and just read some books. That always helps me.
I've been playing Deltarune (I'm at Chapter 5, didn't finish it yet so don't spoil please) but one problem I haven't noticed that they are too many quirky characters that have weird speech pattern or way of speaking and it kinda gets on my nerves. At first it's funny but when it's every other character it starts to lose it's novelty. There's Lancer, Rouxls, Berdly, Queen, Tenna, Jackenstein, Gerson, and Flowery and I probably missed a few. Like having one or two quirky characters is fun and cool but when it's every character it gets stale. Not everyone can be the GOAT.
Any Wario Land fan who hasn't, should play Parellel World. It's that good!

I played it for a bit (then forgot about it) but it's definitely interesting. I like the more open larger stages though sometimes it is a bit tedious to navigate. A shame there was no custom music though. I should finish it some time.

You really should. Especially since you have a GBA emulator. It's worth it, bro.

I very much second this, even though I haven't given it a recent playthrough. It will definitely be included in my biannual Wario Land marathon for a revisit!
As someone who's not head-over-heels in love with 4, this mod felt much more advanced in terms of how it squeezed out the potential of Wario's moveset, in a similar way WL3 did.
I think it's a shame we haven't got a new 2D game for the GBA and just got remakes of the classic game. I'm curious to see what they could have done. It could have been just what I needed!

You're referring to Mario, right? Yeah, aside from Super Star Saga there really weren't many new Mario games for the GBA.

But at the time, it was pretty awesome to be able to play all these classics on the go. I remember being a little kid, and it was the coolest thing ever to play Donkey Kong Country or Super Mario World anywhere, anytime.

Yeah, I was referring to 2D Mario platformers. It's just that I somehow dropped the "Mario" while typing.
I got a new phone today, and since I'm getting one of those phone gamepad soon I decided to setup Daijishō on my phone. It's really cool:

Of course I used this occasion to load up a Wario certified GBA library. Here you see that I have a very varied taste in gaming that extends to a whopping 3 franchises. That's a lot, I know.
Struggling with Discord spam and stuff makes me realise how grateful I am for forums like this one.

They just kinda... work. Because we can setup whatever systems we like to deter spam, trolls, etc, and they'll be unique enough that the troublemakers won't get around them.
Glad to see you again! Missed your posts (thanks for the follow on Backlogdd btw)

I'm flattered!! Even if I'm still not in enough of a Wario mood to be as active as I was a few months ago. A new game would go a long way to spark my interest...
While I am here though I should wish you a happy birthday!! 🎂
