We really need more JRPG/Mother inspired games that aren't depressing as hell.

I think I said this before but I always had a problem with games and media that have depressing themes, I just don't really see the point since it's doesn't make the player feel joy, nor does it benefit their life in a useful way.

Also I looked up Hylics and yo what the actual hell is this?!

And it's been done to death. Mother 3 was perfect, and Undertale was a great successor. But now almost every game keeps trying to do the same thing, and it's annoying as hell.

I still have no desire to ever play Omori and will never understand the appeal of that game. How hard is it to make a JRPG that's just plain fun?
Ribbit was the most fun JRPG I've played in years, and it was a mod of Deltarune Chapter 1.

And as for Hylics, yeah, that game is a trip. If you want a JRPG that's dirt cheap and will surpass WL4's weirdness, then you're in for a treat.

I never played any of the Mother games since I'm not big into RPGs, though I did play Undertale and I think it was alright. I've heard a lot of praise for every aspect of Omori apart from its gameplay so I'm gonna assume it's nothing to write home about. Maybe I'll play Ribbit some day.

I played through Deltarune Chapter 1 through 5 and to be honest, the more I played the more dissapointed I was. I just feel like the game doesn't really go anywhere. Like the story is trying to be cryptic for the sake of being mysterious and to be honest, it has been annoying me. I have genuinely no idea how Toby Fox will be able to give a satisfying ending, and to be honest I kinda lost my faith in indie creators ability to give satisfying answers to long mysteries since the TADC ending. Undertale worked because it was a short game but Deltarune is not.
I've been thinking of recreating WL4 in Pizza Tower AFOM (the updated CYOP, which, if you don't know what that is, is a custom level/tower creator), my main complications are the bosses, the indestructible old man in the secrets, and the big board

Yeah programming complex custom elements will definitely be the most challenging part of remaking a game like Wario Land 4. Heck, even a lot of 'simpler' elements might be tricky here, since every level has new enemies and mechanics with unique behaviour that may not translate well to another engine...

That sounds fun as hell! Please keep us updated. Would love to play it when it's done.

No worries man, I'm not the kind to give up easily when life goes sour. Thx for the kindness. :wlheart:
I've seen a lot of people taking about underrated soundtracks but you know what has the most underrated one? Yoshi's Safari!

Like when's the last time you heard someone talk about that game.
