I will probably swap between the two profile pictures each month, which means next month I will be on that happy Natsumi shit again.......
If anyone here is trying to learn another language, I recommend playing WarioWare in your target language! Between playing Gold, Get It Together! and Move It! in Spanish I have learned a lot of words because the commands make them easy to understand and remember! Give it a try!

As you should be! I find Arabic to be very enchanting, especially with the amount of little words I know because of the Arabic vocabulary in Spanish, I recently went to Granada where you can see the writings and Muslim culture present. Is it hard to tell where someone is from to you based on their accent and regionalisms when they speak in Arabic?

There is not really a "global Spanish" but when most people learn Spanish (at least in my country) they use Mexican Spanish as more of a standard since it is the biggest Spanish speaking country, and the most prevalent Latino population in the US. Even so I have met a surprising amount of Salvadorans which is so cool because that is where my dad was from, and Peruvians as well, which is where my great-grandpa was from!!

In reality when things are localized into Spanish, they make a Latino Spanish dub and a Spain Spanish one (which uses more slang as it is specific to one country rather than the Americas), with there not usually being dubbing actors using more prevalent accents/slang from their countries or regions to make it more understandable to a wider audience. Spanish is crazy with the amount of varieties there are, sometimes people joke that Chileans speak their own language because of how different it is XD

And it is totally normal and cool if you mix up stuff from different English varieties, that is how it is with a lot of second language English learners for the same reason as you, I mix up different terms from different countries in Spanish all the time. Through being in Spain my accent has changed so that I use more of my throat when I pronounce the jota (like an h sound) from being exposed to it here, something else that comes from Arabic!

Your trip to Granada sounds really cool! I like Spain but I always go to the same village every year with my family. So much so I know it by heart now, lol. It's mixed heritage that seems really cool to me, that's why I love my origin country Algeria with it mixed Numidian/Berber, Roman, Arab, Muslim, Turkish and French culture. The same can be said about Mediterranean countries in general. Like Türkiye, its language is huge mashup of a lot of other languages.

Since I live in France, I can't always pint-point the exact country the Arabic speaker come from but I can tell the region, like for example the more you go to the west (West Algeria, Morocco) the harsher the dialect may sound, Egyptian pronounce the /j/ sound like /g/ (e.g. they would pronounce Al-Jazair, Al-Gazair, the Arabic name for Algeria) and Tunisian kinda sound like they sing when they talk (kinda like Italians), I am less knowledgeable for the Asian Arab countries since I am not very exposed to it.

I guess Mexican being seen as the "default" Spanish in the US makes sense, similar to how Algerian seems to be the default Arabic in France due to being the most prevalent Arab/Muslim/Maghreb and maybe even African population in France.

The dub thing is really interesting! We have a similar thing in French where they sometimes make a French France dub and a French Canada (Quebec) dub, though is they do not even have a Quebec accent in the dub, they just a change the dialogue a bit and the voice actors. The France dub is usually better, to be honest (I may be bias lol). Also, it's usually the one that gets pirated easier.
I've noticed that most English learners goes with American, I remember being teased about having British and Australian influences in my accent lol (it was lighthearted though). Like for example, I usually pronounce the T slightly like Americans but pronounce the R like British people.

When you talk about the "jota" sound, do you mean actually like a h in English or more of a sour h? In a Arabic we have a letter called "ha" (ه) that's a lighter sound exactly like the one in English, a more sour letter called "Ha" (ح) that comes more form the throat that doesn't exist in English and the "KHa" (خ) that sounds like the CH in "Acht" in German. Note that that's a very important difference in Arabic, as "نحل" /nahla/ means "Bee" but "نخل" /nakhla/ means "Palmtree"... that's literally a dot above a letter away.

Yeah, Spain has so much to do and the provinces are so different, I definitely recommend seeing if you can explore around a bit, Valencia and Granada and Murcia are pretty cool. Yeah, my favorite part about my country is the diversity, all sorts of people from different places come to the states and bring their culture with them! We might be the most diverse country on the planet, like a melting pot.

Interesting with the things with regional variations! I can only imagine how different words can sound and be pronounced from one variety than another when you combine all those things, it only makes the language richer and more interesting. Yeah, in the US when you see packaging for things they have it in English, French (for Canada) and Spanish basically always, and you usually see the option to learn Spanish, French, or American Sign Language in schools. It is similar with the dubbing thing, but it surprises me if they do not really have a Quebec accent in that region's version. And yeah, I have a bias for the Latin American dubs of things since I am from the Americas XD The R sound in American English might be difficult to pronounce for people learning it, so they might go for the British one, although it sounds like for you it is not for that reason.

Well, usually in Latin American dialects, the jota is softer so it resembles the English h, while the Spain jota is more similar to the sour H you are describing, but it varies, that is just a general idea. Another thing that can make Latin American Spanish speakers sound more "sing-songy" and "less harsh". Some dialects there pronounce the y as a soft y while others go for a sound that is halfway between the y and j in English, in the Latino dub of the Switch WarioWare games, you can hear the announcer (voiced by Circe Luna) pronounce it the latter way, which is interesting. The way that Arabic is written is cool with those nuances!

I would absolutely die if those games were put on there, but I am not getting a Switch 2 anyways XDDD
Switch 2 direct is massive, moreso than the low taper fade meme.
Switch 2, mouse mode, voice chat, new Mario Kart, new way of game sharing, some games announced to come to Switch 2 (Elden Ring, Yakuza 0, THPS3+4), more news about Metroid Prime 4, new Hyrule Warriors game, some smaller games coming to Switch 2, some Switch 2 editions, GameCube games on NSO, and here come the big ones...

SILKSONG, DELTARUNE, NEW KIRBY AIR RIDE, NEW 3D DONKEY KONG

Honestly, it blows my mind that we got all of that yet no sign of the new 3D Mario game. But what we did get is ma-- huge.... Whew... I swear I can't see this word without my brain getting a psychological attack. It truly reached a low point and I feel my brain cells that taper and fade...
