Princess Shokora Thread

Okay, it was a bit of a shitty attitude to take on at the time, but I want to make it clear that I'm not the sort of person who doesn't want people to have differing opinions. Yeah, I realise a lot of my actions don't indicate as much, but it's the truth. I'm not saying everyone should like the things that I like, however in this case I did feel like an appreciation thread should be used for exactly that. I hope I don't come across as dismissive of the views of others anymore.

Really, I can see why people would think Shokora is unimportant and not worth talking about, but at the time of making this thread, receiving a notion that the topic is pointless when it's dedicated to what I feel is an important aspect to the forums' basis, it came across as the subject being shot down before getting a chance to develop. Whether or not that was actually the case or what I feel about it now is unimportant, but yeah, just to cover my ass a bit.

I can't promise more Shokora content/discussion grounds or even wanting to, but yeah. Felt like I should get that out that I'm sorry for being an asshole.

Might as well speak on my behalf now. I still maintain I wasn't trying to ruin this thread I was under the impression this was a discussion thread and not strictly an appreciation thread. I just wanted to give my take on this since I watched the video and all but I did not agree with the interpretation the video and some other people had. I later became annoyed at the attitude some people had on this thread and the posts I disagreed with I felt were personal jabs at me for voicing a different opinion but had I known my actions would have killed the thread I would have just walked away. That's all I have to say about this and I hope nothing like it happens again.

I don't mind talking about it. I didn't necessarily disagree with the interpretation. I just mainly disagreed with it being the "right" interpretation. I thought the interpretation was perfectly valid and had some solid backing but as an interpretation could neither be right or wrong. The explosion of Shokora activity confused me a bit which is why I wanted to express my opinion a bit. I wanted to discuss it further but I felt my opinion was unwelcomed.

That's a shame, really sorry you were led to feel that way. Discuss it further at your leisure now, if you like. I had to go to work so sorry for the awkward gap in saying this. Nevertheless I apologise for being so dismissive beforehand, I'm interested in what you have to say.

I can somewhat understand the appreciation for Shokora more than a certain other character but only just so.

A lot of my appreciation for her comes from the fact she's from such a great game. :sgrin:
I also like that they don't take her so damn seriously. I mean there this: :shokorawah:

I know a lot of people think we took things too seriously, but more than the interpretation itself, the appreciation comes from the fact there was room for it. The shop, the soundroom, the curse and all the themed imagery, it'd be lazy to think they're there 'just because' when they easily make sense without getting in the way of the game. She took a very typical trope, gave it a twist and made it fit right in with Wario's sense of humour while still having a heartwarming touch. The execution of something like that ain't easy to pull off, and I think there's a lot of value in it that's worth appreciating, at least.

besides, look at this pouty cutie: :Pout:

Wow! What a cool and funny image. Bet you're glad you got to see it! Now, you certainly do not need to find out where this image came from. That would just be pointless, right?
