It's obviously something I suspect is unlikely to happen, but does anyone else think this could be the greatest thing ever if it did get made?
Because as I mentioned before, Retro have quite a bit of experience making games in the Wario Land design sense. Like how the Wario Land series is very much like Donkey Kong Country (especially in the SNES games) in its level and world design, with a mix of overly naturalistic, gritty industrial and super wacky environments. The concept art for the Golden Temple in Returns is in some cases practically a blueprint for the design of a Wii or Wii U Wario Land game:
Additionally, I've always thought the music of the Donkey Kong Country series (and Retro's games in general) always seemed like it'd work quite well in a new Wario Land title. I mean, the third and fourth game were definitely heading towards more of that 'style':
Heck, while Wario Master of Disguise wasn't exactly seen as a good game, the music in it kind of shows how well some heavy metal/electric guitar based themes similar to those in Tropical Freeze would work in a new Wario platformer.
Add how good Retro's level and boss design is, and I think they're a pretty good choice of team for a new Wario Land title on Wii U. And let's not forget one other thing...
Nintendo bothers to market their games. So if they did make a new Wario Land game, we might actually see adverts and attempts at marketing it rather than the game being quietly ignored like Game & Wario and co.
So yes, does anyone else think Retro could make a good Wario Land game? It's a pity they probably won't due to all the bad reactions to some people when they announced Tropical Freeze's existence (a third 2D platformer in a row would probably cause some Nintendo 'fans' to have a break down).
