The little details in games

Sometimes games just like to throw in small eastereggs or visual details just for the hell of it, do you have any favorite examples?
For me Captain Toad Treasure Tracker might become the absolute champion in that regard:

This is from the the prolog, I didn't even notice it until I replayed the prolog for the bonus mission.

Super Mario Bros mushrooms found in the second level.

So that's what Green/Bank Toad is reading throught the game, Mario level maps!

The fabled Luigi sightings return once more!

There is one other particular 8-Bit easteregg that I would like to point out:

Yes Rosalina did make it in to the game via 8-Bit easteregg.
On a serious note thought it is actually pretty damn well hidden, since she is not only in the background but also constently moving.

It did.

When replaying Toadette's pinball like level I noticed the design of the table:

Really nice looking, makes me wonder why I didn't notice it the first time.

Even more hidden Luigis!

My favorite part thought have to be the animations for the main characters, when spinning in circles Toad and Toadette will actually get dizzy and tumble over and their idle animations also have them react to theyr suroundings at certain points, such as them shivering when staying still in an cold area or falling asleep at certain points:

It's little touches like these that can give a game just so much more charm and I'm glad to say that Treasure Tracker excells in that aspect!

I like that d:) i have played Treasure Tracker and never saw any of those things.

I know that in Super Mario 64 in Bowser's Bowser In The Sky level) right by the pipe that leads you to fight him) on the back of the four pillars where it is windy) you will see drawings on em of classic Bowser blowing fire at classic Mario. Mario 64 facts, easter eggs and cut content bits! – Bowser's Blog
That's cool! I never saw that.
Nothing comes to my mind, at the moment.

In WarioWare Gold, we can read this about Mona:

"Mona adores cute little critters. Sure cats and dogs, but it's fuzzy-wuzzy caterpillars that truly win her over."

And what do we see in Get it Together?

She has statues of insects, including -indeed- caterpillars, in front of her house.

Now that's one of the best references and little details in the entire series so far.

Wow, that's great!

In Half-Life 2 there’s an achievement called “blast from the past” where you have to find an old H.E.V. Charger faceplate in Eli’s scrapyard, the lettering of the H.E.V. Charger faceplate is consumed since the events of the sequel are based 20 years after the first game
Such small (and hidden) details are so damn cool to see
