Well, firstly, welcome to the Wario Forums! Secondly, how did you find the forums?
Thanks for the welcome! I found this site out of morbid curiousity (online search of "wario forum") a while back actually. After some snooping as an anon, only now have I decided to formally introduce myself as a member, since I just keep returning to Wario like an old friend.

Finding the Wario Forums when actively searching for them is kind of wild haha. I suppose the next obvious question, what's your favorite Wario game?

I enjoy a lot of the Lands fairly closely, but 3 is my favorite and one of my favorite games I've played. I just revisited it and it still feels like a total package. I also have very fond memories of D.I.Y. despite never using the online functions, just making my own games was fun enough.

Oh hey, Wario Land 3 was my first Wario Land game. It and Wario Land 4 are among my favorites, only really beaten by Wario World.

Welcome to the site! What other games do you play apart from Wario?
Thank you for the welcome!! I've played a wide variety of games in my day, but it's tough to pinpoint what I'm playing right now. I still have a Switch but it's mostly decorating my entertainment center, unless I feel like touring my Animal Crossing island. Sometimes I'll boot up my PS2 collection on my computer to check out something; I have a lot of series and titles I still want to try. I often like to replay my favorites every couple of years... a few I can name off my head are Cave Story, the original Luigi's Mansion, and of course WL3.
An oddity of my personality is that the more popular a game is, the less I desire to play it. So I also enjoy looking for more obscure stuff. I'm trying to dabble into horror games, a genre I've avoided, and my first outing was with the Dreamcast's Illbleed, which I loved a lot. I also feel this way with a lot of Treasure's games outside of the more popular ones. Maybe I gravitate towards the lesser known because it feels like discovering something nobody else can inform me about.
I would say right now I'm actually making games more than playing them! I have a project in Godot I'm chipping away at that is actually somewhat Wario-like... but that's all I'm saying on it. I like to keep my big projects private to not give anyone expectations I can't live up to.

Nice! I too have my own somewhat Wario-like project I'm working on.

Wish you luck on this!

So, what are some of your interests outside of playing games? Do you have many other hobbies?
Well developing my game solo has put me on the path of researching all the aspects that go into a game! Coding is something I've been drawn to since my youth thanks to a fancy little website called Scratch, and I also enjoy various forms of art, mainly 3D modeling and sculpting with clay, which I've both been implementing into my project. I also like writing, maybe a little too much, and I'm currently trying to read more informal books.

Either way, do you prefer Wario Land of Ware? Or do you think both are as good in their own regards?
I overall prefer Land and have more to say and think about it, but I do also appreciate the Ware games and think they make up a package deal that is Wario. I don't gel with the opinion that Wario used to be this cool, macho tough guy in Land who got turned into a joke in Ware, because he is also very silly in a lot of those Land games. I think him being a game developer with an evergrowing gaggle of misfits working for him is a fun direction for his character, and the microgames themselves very much carry on R&D1's passion for presenting whatever wacky ideas they could think of.

How did you get into gaming? What was your first game?
My first games were a five-pack of Namco arcade titles, in the form of this plug n' play box:

I was particularly fond of Dig Dug... after that however, you'd think I would get some actual consoles? Not quite. The first machine I grew accustomed to playing games on was the family computer, and my childhood overlapped with the popular era of Flash games, so that's what tied me over before I got a Wii and 3DS later on. I learned more about Mario from fan games than what Nintendo themselves were putting out!

Here is some questions that I made for other Wario Forums users before:

Here is some questions that I made for other Wario Forums users before:
Wahoo, that's a nice variety of questions! I'll answer each one under a spoiler to not bury anyone below us in too much text...
I love anything with mint and chocolate, so candies that combine the two such as Andes are right up my alley! I'm also not immune to the allure of chocolates with peanut butter.
Can't go wrong with plain potato chips, though I occasionally like to dabble in a flavor such as salt and vinegar. I like my snacks salty, but sometimes to balance my diet I'll slice up some carrots or celery to crunch on.
I was not much of a reader in my youth, so I'm currently somewhat struggling to read now. My biggest problem is that my brain usually goes into "auto-pilot" and I simply gloss over the words with my eyes without really taking in what they're saying. I've been trying to kick those habits as I read more theory I'm interested in. I recently finished Julia Serano's Whipping Girl, which was very eye-opening. I did read more comics or picture-heavy books as a kid though; some of my favorites were Captain Underpants and Geronimo Stilton.
I can't say I read a lot of fanfic because my favorite characters tend to not get a lot of it... I like characters that most of the fans of a franchise either overlook or have nothing to really say about. I tried writing my own stories about those characters before, but it's nothing I want to make public at least currently.
I would so-very-much love to work for Wario and his crew!! He's built up a great, tight-knit community over the years, and I'm sure with time I'd make friends with everyone. Plus, even if Wario tries to make off with the pay, he can't outrun all of us...
It's tough to say, since most of the other employees have a lot of the bases covered... maybe I would try to tie all of my microgames together with a unique setting and cast of characters, making it feel like they're all a part of an ongoing series.
I sure do!! My favorite Ware game is D.I.Y., which I've just picked up again because I have the creative itch to doodle some comics. Outside of that game, I think Smooth Moves is my favorite for being such a humiliating concept: having to act out the microgames is amazing for passerbys to witness, especially the boss game for the final stage.
I'm not the kind of person who thinks most games need remakes, as I think there's a lot of merit to playing games as how they were originally intended. I would rather get a Wario Land sequel, but if I had to choose one to remake, perhaps the first game as it is the least polished. I would also enjoy an HD port of Shake It, so we can get those beautiful hand-drawn graphics with less compression.
I am really not cut out for fighting games, they bring out a competitive side of me that makes me miserable... that said, I have played Smash Ultimate, so I'll just list my 5 favorite characters there: Wario, Mr. G&W, Dedede, Pac-Man, and K. Rool.
I think a ROB comeback could be fun, though seeing how Nintendo is bringing back the Virtual Boy is not instilling much hope. I would prefer for them to make a new ROB with new functions, since I doubt they could get much mileage out of either stacking blocks or spinning tops. Maybe they could even make a LEGO build for him?
Not sure... on paper I like the concept of third-party characters in the spinoff party games, but adding them from one game is basically an invitation to add them from all the RPGs and DK games and Wario games and whatnot, which is probably why Nintendo tries to refrain from doing so, at least now. That said, I think an idea for one of these games' rosters is to start with the Mario regulars, then maybe add one character from each third party title to give a balance. Out of the SMRPG choices you listed, I think Geno would be the most sensible to see.
I did dig around the Mario mangas to look for any Wario Land content, which are packed with very peculiar drawings! It was also cool to see more drawings of Captain Syrup before her modern design (hot take? I prefer her older design), which I'm sporting in my avatar. Other than that I haven't read them much, maybe I'll look into those Zelda ones...
I have Wario, K. Rool and Pac-Man from Smash Bros, and Dedede from the Kirby series. I don't really collect amiibos but they are nice to have for my favorite characters!
I think what makes him cause discussion among most fans is that none of the other Mario cast have received major redesigns, but I think he's pretty good looking! It's a cool inbetween look of his classic and Rare designs. I personally always thought the Rare design was more menacing, especially his brow being in this constant angry scowl, so I can understand why they would want to redesign him for the Kart/Party games where he's just being a jolly monkey.
Ah yes, feels like it was yesterday she got revealed... I'm honestly not big on her design, I feel it's fairly restrained for what should be a more unhinged character. I like the concept of her being a child leader to contrast with Peach, ordering around Wario and Waluigi like they're her overgenerous dads, but obviously none of this was shown in the game itself and I'm just going off what her design communicates. Personally, I already thought Waluigi was pushing the unnecessary boundary somewhat, and I feel even more so with this character. I understand why she didn't make it in, even if another female character in the spinoff cast would have been welcome to see. However... I also think there already was a character who could've fit that Wapeach role quite well, on top of being more fleshed out to begin with. Maybe she was already too disassociated with Mario for them to consider her, though.
Thanks for all the interesting questions!!

Hi there, always nice to see another enthusiastic Wario fan. As an old fart who's been on this website for over a decade (got damn), I'm always curious what gets people to still pull the trigger. So, you said you used to lurk as an anon but what made you seal the deal?

Some sort of concoction of always returning to Wario (at least some of those Land games and Ware D.I.Y.), having a lot to say with not many people to listen, and a yearning to browse a good-old fashioned online forum! Though seeing the activity from almost a decade ago now makes me wish I got into these games and hopped on here sooner... but that's how I developed as a person, so que será será.

Well now's a good time as ever to join, this place for like the past I wanna say 2 years or so has been more active than it has been in a long time.
Before that activity was a lot more inconsistent for the longest time.
