So I'm trying to learn how to draw and decided to dump some of my past drawings here:

Here's the first drawing I made on a drawing tablet, I made it on MSPaint back when I still used Windows:

Now a drawing I made in two time, once on paper and then on a drawing tablet using Krita:

I wasn't sure how to use the software as you see lol. The coloring and lines aren't perfect.

Finally a drawing I did yesterday:

I used references for all of them. I don't know how to do original poses for now. If you have any tips or feedback, I'd be glad to hear them. I'm still learning as you can see.

Sorry no Wario. I wanted to draw a while ago but I had a bit of trouble, I may try it again at a later date though. I do think I got better at drawing since then.

Did some more today! Thought I'd share.

First I drew Bass from Mega Man. Wasn't sure how to do his armor in this position so I left it at that:

Second, IT'S-A

TIME ! I took my revenge as I said I attempted it before but failed miserably. Take a look:

Wario_P.png

This one I'm pretty proud of. The issue I noticed after scanning it through the printer is that one of his eyebrow is way larger then the other. Hmm...
Well you know what. It's not an actually a mistake (it is), It's to show that Wario is an unbalanced and eccentric character! (no, it's not.)
Also I originally misplaced his eyes, then I looked at it and thought "Hey! Wario used to have a crossed-eye, didn't he?" and erased them to make it a bit more apparent.

As always I'm glad to hear feedbacks or tips!

Heya, it's been a while, eh? While I stopped uploading here in this thread, that doesn't mean I stopped drawing. Quite the opposite actually, I've been drawing a lot but this time I was drawing original characters for indie game I'm currently making. And after coding for a bit, I decided to tackle the graphics (something that I never ever tried before). So today I drew my first sprite, it's not amazing but I thought I'd share it nonetheless.

This won't be in the final game, it's just a test to get used to digital drawing and making sprites. I used MM7 Rock's sprite as a reference. Here's the original drawing, it's based on:
Aykur1_P.png

(Don't pay attention to the RV1. It's the acronym for the title of the game and even then, I might change it)
This was my first attempt at creating a character, I drew it like two months ago. This isn't my favorite character I drew but I still like it. My art has improved since then and I have made a lot other characters since then but this one is the only one I feel comfortable sharing right now.

Obviously, I still have lots of progress to make art-wise so if you have any tips like always feel free to share 'em.

Looks rad! What's the game gonna be about? And what's it inspired from?
Thank you! I don't wanna spoil too much but for now I'll tell you that it's mostly Sonic and Mega Man inspired in the way that the gameplay is fast-paced and the momentum is involved, plus you can use swap between different abilities and have control over the stage order. (Fun fact: the MM aspects of the game, I actually thought of before becoming Mega Man fan, and the similarities with my game were originally a coincidence). Maybe you could consider it also a bit Wario Land inspired as there will be a fair bit exploration and the stage will have a lot of unique gimmicks. Though that may be a stretch.

You'll fight with a saber which you'll be to use in various ways. There's more to it but I'll keep the explanations at that. I'll probably record a video of the gameplay once it'll be somewhat presentable. Right now, though the physics are down, it's just squares and rectangles lol.

And as I said in a status post, here's the New Year's Card:

Fun fact: this is actually my first fanart that isn't a copy of a reference. I picked Pizza Tower because its unorthodox style allowed me to practice without worrying about proportions too much. I tried thicker line art for once but I think it was a mistake tbh. I messed the hands a little which is a shame. It's nothing crazy but I'm happy with how this turned out.

If you've got any tips be sure to share them. I'd be happy to hear it. I still struggle with more dynamic poses so that's that...

These are some cute doodles! I particularly like that Zero sketch, very detailed.
I'm no professional myself, but the only tip in my recent memory that's helped me is confidence! Drawing lines is all about maintaining the flow of your hand as it moves, not restraining yourself to the point of penning squiggly, unfocused lines. You don't have to be fast while drawing, but a good way to practice or warm up is to quickly pen a bunch of bold lines and curves. And you shouldn't fear or feel shameful over references, especially for complex subjects like hands; I even like to contort and look at my own hands when I'm trying to draw one from a certain angle. If you are struggling with dynamic poses, maybe one thing you can try is to draw a confident "line of action" that curves in a way where you can draw an interesting pose over it. I find it challenging to draw more dynamically without planning ahead a little like that. Above all, I hope you're having fun drawing and kicking your shame to the curb!!

Thanks for the kind message and the tips! I usually use the line of action in my drawings, through it's been a while since I drew a full body and not just a face (I didn't use the line of action for Peppino tho). I may have to get back into it.

These are lovely! Though for a free art program I'd suggest Krita. I don't use it myself but my friend has gotten a lot out of it, it offers so many options for different brush styles, more tools, probably the best on the market when it comes to free drawing applications!

It's open source as well so it's safe to assume it's modable.

Thanks a lot! I actually already use Krita, I'm a Linux user with KDE as my desktop environment so it's suits me great! It also has an Animation Workspace so I also make the sprite animations for game in it.

Yeah, I kinda got way too much into drawing my own OCs all in the same art style and technique that I wasn't sure how to replicate Pizza Tower cartoony aesthetic.
Once you draw Peppino enough times, you'll have it nailed down. He's super fun to draw!

That's also why McPig made Peppino the star of the game.
