Do you have an amiibo collection?

Nintengasm

Hocus Pocus!
I didn't think I would interested in the slightest at amiibo, but after getting Pikachu it turned into somewhat of a hobby collecting them.

Right now, I have:
- Pikachu
- Peach
- Mario
- Kirby
- Link
- Donkey Kong

Do you have any of them?

I don't find the toys (and especially not their so-far piddly uses) interesting, so nope.

More worrying, tho, is that Amiibos seem like a stepping stone toward Nintendo enterring the wonderful world of on-disc DLC and nickle and dimming, the biggest example being Smash 4's AI training feature being locked to them. Sure, it's not a particularly interesting feature and one most people won't touch, but look at it this way: Armored Core: Silent Line (to name one example) has a similar AI training mode, and that game didn't require you to buy any additional plasic doohickey to make use of it. Smash 4 does for no pratical reason, and that's wrong.

(I'll probably recant my first statement if they make one of Ashley, tho. i'm weak)

No really, I doubt I'll buy since I dislike this kind of idea of buy toys to play to increase the stats of your character. (Kinda like Skylanders)
In my opinion, its just another way to win extra money.

I do have a small amiibo collection, with plans on getting more.

-Luigi
-Peach
-Yoshi
-Donkey Kong
-Kirby

It's not much, but it's something.

But that's not what they do at all.

Mario Kart 8 gives you Mii racing suits, Hyrule Warriors gives you extra items or weapons (albeit weak ones) and Smash Bros. gives you a computer character to train. None of them increase stats or anything like that.

I wish I did but I wouldn't be able to use it unless I had a Wii U or Smash U or a 3DS accessory so it's just out of inconvenience I don't have one much less a collection. Marth would be a favorite though.

Why yes, I have:
-Mario
-Luigi
-Link
-Pikachu
-Fox
-DK
-Yoshi

and plan to get the Bowser amiibo and if Wario amiibo.

I got my first Amiibo yesterday, Luigi to be exact.
Initially I wasn't planning on picking one up since their usage so far hasn't really convinced me and the ones I want out of collecters purposes (Wario,Mega Man and Ness) aren't out yet, thought upon looking at him I figured that I could give it a shot since he looked pretty neat and would make a good figurine to put on display either way.
As for his usage in the games it's alright, the Mii costume in Mario Kart 8 looks nice, but I don't really play with Miis in that game, still a nice bonus regardless.
I was more interested in what it does in Smash and there is something suprisingly novel about my personal Luigi growing from a wimp to a formidable opponent, while I probably won't do much with it in the future it did bring me back to Smash for a while, thought now I'm more interested in what Amiibos are going to do in Mario Party 10 and especially Captain Toad, I'm happy with my purchase thought even if there really isn't much to do with it at the moment.

While waiting for my second interview, I had some time to kill, and some money to spend (thanks to a GameStop gift card, no less), so I bought the Mario and Diddy Kong Amiibos. Don't worry, they didn't keep me from focusing on the interview itself. They weren't even with me there.

The updated list:
-Luigi
-Peach
-Yoshi
-Donkey Kong
-Kirby
-Mario
-Diddy Kong.

I have Villager and Pikachu. I'm very glad that I alerted my mother to Villager's release early on as he's become very rare! (He was a Christmas gift.) I also have King Dedede preordered and may also buy Kirby and Meta Knight for their use in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse.

Also, for anyone looking for Marth, Nintendo alluded in today's Nintendo Direct that they would be releasing more of him soon in anticipation of Code Name S.T.E.A.M.'s release this March where he will be a playable character.

Been looking for the Rosalina amiibo at the Target stores...no luck. It's a shame because I wanted to be able to say I got one from my home county. I hear it's actually cheaper to import the Japanese version. Good thing they're region free. I might consider it one of these days.

Oh well, at least I can update the list...

The updated list:
-Luigi (Smash Bros.)
-Peach (Smash Bros.)
-Yoshi (Smash Bros)
-Donkey Kong (Smash Bros.)*
-Kirby
-Mario (Smash Bros.)
-Diddy Kong
-Samus
-Bowser (Smash Bros.)

*The Mario Party 10 version isn't announced yet, but it's almost certainly coming.

Man, my wallet's gonna be hurtin' this year, what with all these amiibos and Darkwing Duck's return to comics and whatever else may come our way. It'd help a little to have a job...

Not sure which country you live in SurrealBrain, but Rosalina is street dated (at least in the U.S.) for 2/1 so the system will not allow her to be sold until that date. If you live in Canada you may know that all Target stores in that region will be closing, I'm not sure how soon or whether or not Target stores will receive shipments of her as I know there were major inventory issues/shortages in general for those stores. Just FYI I work at a Target in Charlotte, NC and if you would like I can buy & ship a figure to you at cost if you're unable to find one out in the wild.

That explains it, then. Still, I'd like to see if I can find one out in the wild. In case I don't, do you take PayPal?

Man, and I usually pay attention to the release dates...

Yup, I do PayPal. I'll let you know if/when I'm able to pick one up. Even if you end up not wanting her it's very easy for me to return stuff so it's no biggie. Good luck!
