If You Developed the Next Wario Game...

Basically, this is a thread where we all ask questions starting with the phrase in the title, or something similar. We can discuss what we want in a Wario game, what Wario game we want, what we would add in a sequel/remake of a game, etc. You can ask your own questions, or answer others'. Maybe both. I'll start:

If you developed the next Wario game, what Wario game would you make? A sequel, a remake, or a completely new game?

Have fun! wariosm2;

Wario Land 1 had a world map.
Wario Land 2 had a story map.
Wario Land 4 had themed passages.

What kind of map, or level select screen would you want in a new wario land game?
I would make a world map that you can move around on your own, instead of sticking to paths. Kind of like Super Mario 3D World

Mix of Wario Land 3's, where you can choose paths and completing levels changes parts of the map, and Wario Land 4, where you can go whichever path at any time (except the last level, of course)

Would you put a form of multiplayer in your Wario game? If so how would it work? I would put minigames that use the L and R buttons (like in the original WarioWare game) in both a Wario Land and WarioWare game. Just simple flash game like multiplayer games. I can't think of any new ones atm tho.

I'd prefer actual co-op multiplayer. Especially if the characters from Wario Land and WarioWare had different abilities you could use to fight enemies and conquer levels.

Maybe a battle mode would be nice as well, if done correctly. And no, Super Mario 64 did not do battle mode correctly.

I would definitely want to make a game in the vein of the classic Wario Land titles, with heavy emphasis on the puzzles/transformations. I believe I've talked about this before on this forum, but: I quite like claymation. Aesthetics in a game are important to me, especially when they inform gameplay, a la Yoshi's Woolly World. (And now, with the release Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, I feel like a claymation style is possible!) This art style would lend itself to Wario's transformations both in a visually appealing sense and in a, forgive me, logical sense; the malleable nature of clay could lead to some compelling ways to use Wario’s clay body to solve puzzles. This could be extended in a co-op mode, perhaps with Waluigi and/or WarioWare friends.

In addition, I've always liked the sort of soul/funk-influenced title song of Wario Land 4. The fun, ridiculous, silly, self-empowering elements of some funk music (particularly Parliament-Funkadelic) somehow makes sense with my interpretation of Wario’s character. Obviously, this will never happen ;___;

I'd stick to the Famicom/Gameboy vein^ of Wario (because I'm a sucker for awesome VC titles) and try to make a game very original to him with remixes of various fitting pieces like Pyrite Town or for an emotional scene something from Mother 3 or Kingdom Hearts. Maybe in a way presented like the Simpsons but of course not all human/humanoid characters but I'd include Shokora and Captain Syrup and Rudy in their respective areas. But I like to put a tad of Deadpool humor into this game because it's Wario and he represents that well. I'll put a Nostalgia Critic Master of Disguise reference in there too (the ending with the fart joke) because I feel that it is secretly related to Wario in more ways than one but not enough to make it suck as bad hopefully. And also I'll add AVGN for popularity's sake.

Completely new game. I'd call it "Wario's new Land" with 4 player co-op and with one Player. It'll sort of play like New Super Mario Bros while keeping the Wario brand. So It could work for how many players you have.

The world will be big enough for 4 players while being just as great with one player, like a true Wario Land game. Wario will have his shoulder ram, Waluigi will do something cool I suppose, Ashley will blast things with her wand. Mona will be 4th since it's been said she went with Wario on one of his adventures.

It'll have a new villain that not only tries to take over the world, but he has a large amount of gold and diamonds with him that catches Wario's attention, Waluigi joins Wario since they do a lot of things together, Ashley joins to prove she's the most powerful and not this new villain. (Mona tags alone for some reason.)

It'll have a nice story to go alone with it too.

I'm thinking it'll either use 3d models or Wario shake it style art work. I'd like to see Wario shake it style though.

A sequel to Wario World.

Wario translated very well to 3D, the game wasn't nothing special and there was a lot of untouched potential of the kind of polish it could of had.

I would rework and add new ideas to what Wario World introduced and include key features from the Land series.

I honestly think it would do very well if done carefully.

"Wario's new Land"

Never ever ever in all of ever put "new" in a game's title like that. That is... literally the worst word to put in a title in that way. Not to mention it sounds like Yoshi's New Island which in itself was pure cancer.

Wario's return to dream land.
