Why I think Warioware is unpopular in my opinion.

TB100

What you see is what you get, just a guy...
Now we all know Warioware is not a popular series. But why, there have been many Nintendo IPs that had sold much less then Warioware, but yet, they have much bigger fanbases. (Metroid and Mother being the obvious contenders.) Not only that, but the characters alone should lead to some kind of fandom, (Only Ashley has any sort of a character fandom, but that's really more from Smash then Warioware.) So for a few minutes, i've been pondering why this series isn't popular, but then something came up, and a possible reason as to why it's the series it is, and that is stuff like this.

Now I know what you're saying, what the hell are you getting to TB100? well here's my point.
Now something you have to know, is that japanese games (Outside of a few franchises which i'll get to.) tend to be very unpopular in the west. Hell why do you think Nintendo gave kirby an angry face in the American boxart or why this exists?

Instead of Puyo Puyo,
Or why games like Phoenix wright or Okami never got popular worldwide,
Because the very Japanese and quirky nature of these games are not appealing to general western audiences. But wait! what about games like Mario, Pac-Man, Zelda or Sonic? these are all japanese games, why are they more popular in the west, well Mario and Pac-Man both have global appeal on their sides. (Mario and Pac-Man are the most well known characters in gaming.) and Zelda & Sonic have the opposite thing going on, (They are more popular in the West then Japan, but Sonic was intentionally designed with the west in mind, and Zelda's open world exploration gameplay ended up being more appealing to western audiences.) basically my point is, these franchises appeal to the west for various reasons, but Warioware's quirky and Japanese style is not as appealing to audiences outside of Japan, thus making Warioware more of a Cult series and the primary reason as to why it's unpopular, and why it won't and ever would be popular.
(This is also why Nintendo doesn't give it much attention compared to it's other franchises.)

what are your thoughts on this. Does it make some sort of sense, or am i just a complete dumbass? Please hit it in the comments below.

TLDR, the Japanese nature of Warioware is the primary reason for it's unpopularity. both from a audience standpoint and a marketing standpoint.
