Does anyone miss the toys or souvenirs?

I am quite fond of those little gadgets, I like how in-depth some of them got to basically be extra minigames, unrelated to the microgames. A game I played before WarioWare was Mario Party Advance, which featured similar toys under the name "Gaddgets" (I wonder who made them?) that did various...

    Any Backloggd users?

Thanks!! I don't see any games yet, but just from that avatar I see you're a Blupi fan! I played Planet Blupi a while back and it was very cute.

    Any Backloggd users?

I'm giving this funky site a spin: Backloggd! It's basically Letterboxd for games if the name didn't give that away: you can add games to your collection, your ratings of them, any review you want to write, the works. I thought it'd be fun to log my thoughts on the games I play there, and I...

Before becoming a Treasure Hunter/CEO, what job did you like Wario having?

Wario being an electrician feels like a natural fit to Mario's similar-yet-different plumber. Of course, most of the electric work we've seen him do is... done to him, through lightning strikes and electrocution, but not many electricians have the skills to survive such high voltage. He's...

    I headcannon Wario as Scottish

Huh, I was gonna say this reminded me of this video... And then I look to the comments and see someone familiar! I guess we're on the same wavelength.

what character trait of Wario do you think is the most defining?

I think his greed would be my answer as it is the reason we see all of his other traits, but another one I quite like is his stubbornness. When it comes to Mario platformers, I refuse to believe the concept of 1-Ups is canon, seeing them purely as a functional purpose for how the player can keep...

    Nintendo trademarks Mario & Wario...

Likely just because of the SNES game rerelease, but with all of the other Wario news recently (building up to his debut in the third Mario movie...) maybe it will mean something! A sequel is possible now that the Switch has mouse controls.

Anyone else like the treasure system in these games?

Any game that gives you a collection of unique trinkets to collect with descriptions from the main character is a winner in my book, and MoD and ShakeIt are no exceptions. I do particularly like how each treasure in the former has a price listed, which fluctuates to absurd degrees between...

Should Tatanga reappear as a Wario series character?

I would like to see him make a comeback since I do associate him with Wario, even if he appeared before him. Another character worth mentioning is Katsini, one of Wario's henchmen in the SNES version of Wario's Woods who more than resembles Tatanga, which I personally interpret as another tie...

No I'm not French, I just thought it was a funny name.

Where's your username and avatar from?

My username is just my preferred name really... Ilini. I'm really Ilini, for real! My avatar is Captain Syrup from the top-left of this 4koma strip:

Why Wario WILL be in the third Mario movie! (+ other predictions)

With the release of the final Mario Galaxy movie trailer and the film's release on the horizon, I have no qualms exclaiming the hard truth: Wario isn't gonna show up in such an already-cluttered movie! While we could all join hands and cry at our beloved antiherio's absence, I have brighter news...

What Wario Land enemies and bosses would you want in spinoff games?

The lack of shipwrecked Pirate Gooms and D.D.s floating around in Wario Shipyard was a huge missed opportunity IMO. Otherwise... hard to say. Maybe those spike-mask guys that run into you in 4 could be a fun enemy in a ruins course? Wario Land's enemies aren't exactly the most iconic so I kind...

Has anything in a game actually scared you?

Well games designed to be scary are an obvious big ticket for this sort of discussion, and in the rising popularity of the internet during my childhood there were plenty of those. I remember being unnerved by the original Slenderman game and fearing he would appear in my room in the dark of...

Poll Should the series have a recurring villain?

I like that each game gets its own villain, because it shows all the different types of people who are even worse than Wario. Though I'd be happy with cameos from former bosses if they're integrated well, and of course Syrup as a recurring "lesser villain" rival.
