Anyone feel like YouTube has completely gone to hell?

Maybe I'm being overly cynical or it's a problem with my account in particular, but it feels like my recommendations have completely fallen to pieces. Like, I'm being suggested terrible content I have literally zero interest in from channels I've never seen before (or will likely ever see again) while those I actually care about are just being buried under all of it.

Anyone else feel the same way right now? Kinda stopped me using the site anywhere near as much...

Sometimes. If I keep getting recommended the same crap, I just dislike the video and that usually keeps them from showing up.

The only YouTube content I really watch regularly are the Game Grumps. They're not always the greatest at certain games, but they're still good for a laugh.

I don't have recommandations enabled so I'm not being suggested to those horrors fortunately.... The ads on the other hand...

I use a certain android app that gives you the premium features for free, I probably can't say what it is, but it's been a pleasant experience listening to music and no ads and all that

I gotta make the subscription tab my go to though, because lately my recommended has been like 80 percent stuff I'm not interested in

There are two types of content, temporary things you watch on the toilet, (like I know a lunar day is 23h 56m 4s, I don't got to know "Why leap years skip centuries") and the other is content with viewer retention that you specifically look for and keep coming back to
