I love the sky when it's completely cloudy, and also when it's clear and bright blue. I can't decide which one is better half the time.

I also love cloudy overcast skies. And my favorite thing about it is how it changes throughout the day. The morning its a pretty and soft glowing light, the afternoon its bright and vividly blue, the evening it grows dim and becomes colorful, and then the night is only light by the moon and stars. Its way neat.

A clear night sky is a truly beautiful sight. Unobstructed by clouds and glaring sunlight, you can see hundreds of little glimmers cast by enormous celestial bodies lightyears away from us. The night sky is a perfect visualization of just how vast this universe truly is - and even then, we can only see a tiny fraction of what we know is out there.

It allows us to see that, compared to the galaxy at large, our planet, home to an incredible variety of life and landscapes, is nothing but a tiny speck. While this realization may seem unpleasant, knowing just how little we actually matter in the context of the universe, it's positively exhilarating to think of just how much else must be out there.

If we have so many beautiful things to admire here on this tiny rock we call Earth, imagine how many other places in the universe must have just as many truly unique and marvelous things residing there. In this way, the night sky is not just a pretty image of some little twinkles in the sky. It's a demonstration of how much we still have to learn about the universe. In my mind, nothing is quite as intriguing as that.

This is the kind of stuff I like to see! A little bit of cosmicism never hurts. (ノ*゜▽゜*) (Unless it involves Lovecraftian horrors, instead of the wonder of exploration.)
