...Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to say SCREW THAT PLACE. Holy Loly Mountain/Mt. Itoi is universally regarded as the most unbalanced area in Mother 1, and for good freaking reason. Somehow it manages to be worse than Duncan's Factory or the mansion in Spookane.

And that's why I love Mother 1.

I like Mother 1, Conditionally. I just use the easy ring patch. Still doesn't make that place easy, I'm surprised i'm the only one to notice that, How niché us Mother fans are...

I've never played the Easy ring patch myself, so I'm used to the game's challenge. In fact, I've probably done almost a dozen playthroughs of that game by now...So I suppose my love for the game is an acquired taste of sorts.

Hey i understand, I've played through Dragon Quest 1 like 17 times and that game is mostly grinding.

I remember playing that game as a kid. It was way too hard for me, but in swoops my sister who beat it when she was only 10. WITHOUT a guide. She also did the same with Dragon Quest II, which is arguably even more cryptic. She has always loved old NES RPGs, yet somehow I could never get her to play Mother. Huh.
