Definitely test it out when you can (If it turns on then games should have little to no problem running on it) and hey maybe consider getting someone to clean and restore it for you as there's people out there that are dedicated to restoring old and worn out game consoles to their former glory, if it works then a little work and cleaning up can restore that old and very worn out Gameboy to it's former glory
