No, actually. What I believe is that someone stole or got hold of his computer/phone, and started all that. This hacker seems to live close to him and deleted all his posts

I have a bit of a different theory that he himself made it looked like he was "hacked" in order to rid himself of his connections to this place. I can't say why, but for the past half year I always got a bit of a feeling that he doubted whether or not he belonged here.

Well for the last part, that's the vibe I had been getting from him. He would disappear for periods of time and hadn't really been on for a long time. He also said something at some point along the lines of "all I can do is make witty commentary" though I can't get the exact quote since it's all gone now.

Nah he openly stated that he only came here for a few select people he really liked. He still pmed me and junk, I dont think he was desperately trying to find a way out of here or anything

I think about half of the site disappears randomly : p Its not a super active website

Around the time I returned the last time, which is probly about the closest Ive been to being active on here : p We talked about cartoons and junk.

I cant see angler doing such a thing, I mean outside deleting his posts his pms were edited to something vulgar. I think that the most extreme path that angler would take would just be deleting his profile.

Well, you gotta keep him in mind that considering that he didn't reveal all that much about him, we didn't really know him. That goes for most people you meet on the internet, you only know as much as they reveal.

I'm in the same boat as Mona, here. Angler publicly said on multiple occasions that he was only sticking around to interact with a few certain people, myself included. He and I chatted privately here and there very often, and he expressed interest in keeping contact with me after I told him I was going to leave the site, last year (and I did. I only still pop in here every few weeks to see if he's messaged me).

I actually messaged him myself about a month ago, and, due to the fact that he appears to be taking one of his usual breaks from the site, he hasn't responded yet. However, come yesterday evening, "he" deleted all of his messages, threads, and (like with Mona) edited all of his past PMs to a single vulgar message. Obviously, this goes against his character as we know it in absolutely every way, and I can't imagine...

...Why on earth he would do such a thing. We both discussed leaving in the past, and he always said he would just "quietly slip away" (as did I) without making a big fuss over leaving. Obviously, deleting all of his postings is unnecessary, and spamming vulgar phrases is completely out-of-character and bizarre. Everything about this doesn't add up. I immediately assumed that his account had been "hacked", and his...

...Computer stolen; Jack actually confirmed this, as the IP address of his account is apparently different than before.
I don't know where he is, what he's up to, or how he's doing, but I hope the old Angler is holding up. He was the only reason I stuck around this place for as long as I did. One of the greatest fellows I ever met on the net, frankly.

Angler was a nice guy, hope that if he ever gets the chance to, that he will come back here and let us know how hes doing. Id tag hin here but am afraid his hacker will see it
