    Metal Gear Solid 2. I didn't mind Raiden! Yeah, he's no Snake, but he's there so we can see how crazy stuff gets later on. Snake takes it all in his stride, so it wouldn't have the same effect. And the gameplay is great! It's perfected the top down stealth formula!
