Definitely the older ones. They feel more informal, experimental, and generally more... Wario-like. My favourite one is the one from Twisted!, and that may or may not have something to do with the fact that Twisted! is my favourite WarioWare game. There's just something so special about it...

Dr. Crygor debuted in Mega Microgame$ (the first WarioWare game), not Smooth Moves. As side characters or a cameo, yes. But to incorporate them into the main cast is a but too much honestly.

Yeah, Twisted! and Touched! were the games at which WarioWare was at its peak IMO. This would be a concept that could actually be successful, and it could be a nice nod to the puzzle-platformer aspects of Wario Land, minus the actual platforming.

Is this canon though? Now I wouldn't be surprised if Wario actually did this, but I can't remember reading about this or seeing it in-game. But then again, I don't know all the details of WarioWare lore, so maybe you're right.
