How in the world can it be that we get a (seemingly) high effort Kaizo hack but no "normal" Wario Land hacks or fangames...
Oh well. I suck at kaizo, but might as well try it
Im completing it for the first time to 100% in preparation for my fangame and honestly its...fine.
I like the dialogue and weirdness, but what bothers me are the treasure minigames and touchscreen elements in general.
If they didnt exist or at least worked differently then I can assure you most...
Most of the Wario community I encountered so far seemed fairly chill.
It helps that when it comes to Wario Land specifically, most fans are older/mature...since most young kids have no clue about these games.
Though the WarioWare fans seem pretty normal too, quite creative even!
What both of em...
I believe they can easily share more elements with each other at least.
Like a WL game that contains microgames inbetween worlds as interludes. We'd have a mini WarioWare within the game and typical modes you'd expect in the postgame. But outside of them you'd have a competent platformer too...
Yeah, this is supposed to be a celebration of the franchise in a way. A prequel to all of it, but also filled with elements+references to practically every game there is.
It may even tie directly into Wario Land 1, who knows...
This time you'll actually get to use the movement options in proper levels. You see the challenge levels (the WL4 inspired ones) feature two rankings, one for exploration/coins and the other purely for speedrunning/time
Do I post a new thread about it or should I have posted it in the super old one...?
I dunno to be honest...I just wanted to share the trailer on the Wario Forums too.
The trailer even has super cool narration by a talented guy!
Four people worked on this: the game itself by me, the music by a...
Well, I created the official discord server for the game. I will post weekly sneak peaks there and also publish private playtester builds when the time is right. It also has sections for general chatting, feedback, bug reports and the like.
I will probably still post stuff here but if anyone...
No big deal, here is a sneak peak for the new custom keybinding feature!
It's still barebones right now (just like the whole options screen for that matter), but it's there at least.
The video also shows a new location and a new feature...sucking. It's based on Wario's ...iconic ability from...
When it comes to the keyboard V.0.3.X only has the options of either WASD Control and Space or Arrows with C and V. Though in theory you could also use Space/Control with the Arrows, I guess :/
You aren't the only one who requested more freedom regarding that though, I got that two or three...
Thanks a lot for the valuable feedback!
I’ve noted your reports for now and will work on 'em today.
Feel free to send me the crash logs, it should help!
I figured it might be best to set up a Discord server either today or tomorrow already, since a guy on YT uploaded a video of the demo and it...
I'm glad you enjoy it! Making games is surprisingly difficult, but also very fun.
The demo isn't very long, it's just a tutorial of Wario's most essential moves and then most of his Power-Up related moves. Story-wise it's just a set-up.
The next section I'm working on right now introduces...
Well, I managed to do it! V.0.3.4 is out and "good enough" for SAGE 2025. I certainly learned a lot.
Wario's Conquest now has a much better tutorial section, not only are the hints more clear to understand, if a player takes too long then they can read a proper explanation by Tatanga, sometimes...
Awesome! But wait a bit for it. I'm currently working on the final SAGE related patch, V.0.3.4. It currently fixes/changes 50+ things and I'm still going. It's gonna be a long changelog. It's gonna be the ultimate version of the demo. It should release in the next 24 hours, I think!
Alright! Version 0.3.3 is now available everywhere.
The main reason I did the patch so quickly was because I noticed that WC was too difficult for some players. Since this was supposed to be a tutorial section, I decided to make certain parts easier. V.0.3.1 already made the air dash section...
Yeah, its available for some time. Actually, I'm already working on a hotfix patch that fixes some issues and tweaks some mechanics thanks to feedback I got. It's kinda stressful, but also cool
OH! I just took a look at your profile. You are the guy who makes that WarioWare PC fangame? I saw that demo video when it was still fairly new. Keep it up!
Thanks!
But like I said, don't expect too much from the demo yet. It only offers like...10 minutes of Wario content.:shulk:
My goal is to recreate most of Mario Land 2s mechanics first and then expand on Warios mode.
But I will probably post more or less regular updates here and maybe entire...
