    Daily Grind

Yeah. Any of the characters who have to rely on grappling to advance (9-Volt, 18-Volt, Pyoro) can get really hard to use in the later stages. I switch when I can, but I avoid characters that I know I'll have trouble with, even if it means a short-term score loss.

    Daily Grind

Wa ha ha! In the Variety Pack, one subgame stands out - it's Daily Grind, a 2D sidescroller where you can play as Wario (and his friends), bashing your way through enemies and obstacles and collecting items. The levels are generated forever until you lose, so while the layouts are simple, the...

Characters! Who do you play as?

I main WAAARIO of course! Shoulder-barging my way through everything, Wario Land-style, is such a blast. Other than him, I really like Mona and Jimmy T. for the classic Ware gang. 5-Volt is great too, especially for how she totally breaks some microgames.

A new project for WL4 ROM hacking and Level Editing

I'm definitely interested in this too! Thanks so much for taking the time develop this. I really hope the project continues to go well, and that you keep us in the loop as it updates. While I don't know much about the technical side of rom-hacking or the tools to do it, I would totally love to...

What do you have in common with Wario?

I want to make lots of money, although I think I'm significantly less greedy than Wario is. I like garlic too, though it has to be cooked. Raw garlic is way too pungent for me. And of course, I sport a mustache, though it pales in comparison to Wario's lightning-bolt 'stache.

    Ask Wario!

(This is a form of roleplay, isn't it? Rather than trying to tell a story, I thought it'd be fun to answer viewer questions as Wario in a more off-the-cuff manner. Let's see how that goes!) ---------- Wa ha ha! Eet's-a me, WAAARIO! At WarioWare Inc.'s last board meeting (More like bored...

    Wario's Companions

Even a nonplayable appearance from Waluigi in a Wario Land game would be welcome, I'd say. Just having him appear in a Wario title - even if it's just in a supporting role - would really strengthen his identity and connection with the Wario games. I could totally see Waluigi running some kind...

    Wario's Spoils

You're right, I've fixed the original post to reflect this. Thank you.

    Wario's Companions

I'd argue Land has stronger connections, since Mario himself actually appeared in person (as opposed to just in minigames) in the first Land game - albeit for just a few seconds.

    Wario's Spoils

I feel like Syrup's smart enough to use the sack sparingly, avoiding significantly devaluing coins while still making herself rich. Wario would've been unable to resist mass-producing billions and billions of coins, so perhaps him losing the sack was a blessing in disguise for him.

    Wario's Spoils

He's also secretly friends with Toadette according to Mario Party 6, and did take time to bring Princess Shokora (who he thought was just a stray cat at the time) out of the pyramid with him as it collapsed. Wario's acts of kindness are rare, but they're there.

    Wario's Spoils

A title like that would obviously be about Wario's side-career as a farmer. Guy does keep chickens and has been known to drive a tractor.

    Wario's Spoils

Hm, let's look at that. First up, VB Wario Land: The max coin limit of this game is 99,999. However, if we factor in the number of coins that erupt from the Awazon coin vault at the end of the game, we count an additional 78 Big Coins - worth 20 coins each, which totals out to an additional...

    Wario's Spoils

Wario has been on many adventures over his long treasure-hunting anti-hero career. And each of these end with Wario bringing home riches to add to his ever-vast hoard of wealth. So I thought it’d be interesting to take a quick retrospective, and look back on all of Wario’s earnings over the...

    Wario's Companions

In Wario Land 1-3, Wario went it alone on his adventures (with the arguable exception of getting directions from Rudy in Wario Land 3, although in that case he was being manipulated rather than assisted). However, starting with Wario Land 4, Wario began running into allies who assisted him on...

    The Original Character Thread

My account's namesake, Dr. Mechano. He's a silly mad scientist who uses various robots and inventions to try to take over the world. He's served by a troop of adorable little robots called Minioids, who he treats like his own children, as well as a prim and proper second-in-command named...

Should Wario-Man be a power-up in a Wario Land game?

I feel like Wario Man actually does fit the overall "feel" of Wario's transformations. From Wario Land II onward, Wario's transformations were less powerups, and more like comical mishaps that arose from contact with various enemies and hazards: getting flattened, set on fire, drunk, etc. Wario...

    Thoughts on Wario's Woods?

Wario's Woods is an interesting spin on the falling block puzzle genre, in that you control an actual character who's subject to gravity in the playing field. I've never played a puzzle game that really uses a similar concept, so it gets points for uniqueness right off the bat. While Wario...

Wario Master of Disguise custom plush by me

That's super cool! Master of Disguise is so underrepresented, so it's always a treat to see stuff based on it. Great to see the Purple Wind is still out on the prowl.
