Anyone else think the coloured coin system in Wario Land 3 is pretty neat?

You know, how the coins you get from enemies change colour based on what treasure chest you're near to?

Personally, I find that a great little game mechanic. Find where you are in the level based on the colour of the money you find nearby. It's a nice way of giving the player subtle hints without outright shoving the answer in their face like in New Super Mario Bros...

Anyone agree?

A colored coin is worth 10 normal coins. The color denotes what Key the player is close to.

Uhm... not sure if they did this on purpose. The coins use the same palettes as the key and chest so maybe it's just a technical limitation.

They intentionaly set the colored coin to use the color that the region is set to: grey, red, green, blue or pink

The parasol of that Kirby enemy thing also changes color

Yep, that thing is also set to the same pallete.
And just for that one paragoomba in the Warped Void (the one that is trapped and released with Key Cards from Forest Of Fear), just for that 1 enemy they coded the possibilaty on a pink tileset

But there's a limited amount of palettes you can asign to each object. ^^

I agree with shyguyxxl and wariolandgoldpiramid, but I still think it is indeed pretty neat
