Anyone find it interesting how japanese Wario materials sometimes use a form of clay/claymation?

We all know the japanese Wario World commercial:


In addition to that there are also the cover/back of Bom Bom Comics volume of Wario's Woods:

And this Land 2 advertisement:

Now, I personally like it and think it suits Wario well, but until now I never noticed that it was somewhat of a minor recurring theme in japanese Wario stuff.
