Does anyone else consider wario ware non canon

It's true that they're two different Wario franchises (Wario Land being a platform/adventure genre & Wario Ware being a party-like mini-games genre)

But there's some things can show it's canon:
• Wario's purple Cadillac first appearance was in the fourth installation of Wario Land and it was made by Dr. Crygor, meaning that Wario knew about Diamond City and the crew before the Golden Diva incident.

Oh and also, welcome at Wario Forums. :)

I see no reason to assume they're not in the same continuity. I also think the same about most Mario spinoffs, the one possible exception being Donkey Kong (thanks to Rare crossovers).

I always find it amazing how people keep insisting that Donkey Kong is a part of the Rare "universe" rather than Mario's, it doesn't make any sense to me considering that:

-The original Arcade game had Mario and DK debut side by side and Rare always made it a big deal to establish that the arcade games are indeed canon to the Country series, to the point where Donkey Kong 64 had you play the damn thing at one point.

-The Arcade days are still a important part of Donkey Kong's image, to the point where the rivalry of Mario vs (a) Donkey Kong still exists in it's own sub series.

-Baby DK was kidnapped alongside the likes of Mario, Wario and Peach in Yoshi's Island DS and the game gives no indications that dimension hopping was involved.

-Many DK characters have appeared in Mario's spin offs: Diddy, Dixie, Tiny, Funky and several brands of Kremlings, including King K Rool.

-DK has appeared way to regulary in Mario's games and has been branded as a Mario character way to many times to act as if he wasn't part of the same "continuity" or universe, heck even Diddy and Dixie have been treated as Mario characters in some merchadise.

The only meaningful crossover between DK and other Rare franchise characters that I can think of is Diddy Kong Racing which had Conker & Banjo (and by extension Tip Tup) and while I'd like to think that those two are somehow connected to Mario/DK any possible relation is now mute since Microsoft owns Rare now.

Edit: Of course there is nothing wrong with prefering a different possible Rare universe approach, I should have addressed that from the begining, sorry for beeing a dipshit.

It's only natural that there be a few small references to Land but that does not necessary mean its canon

But it doesn't mean it's non-canon either dude.

Ware is more of a sitcom kind of approach showing Wario's normal everyday life when he is not treasure hunting, it's not like Wario isn't shown just living a normal life in the likes of Master of Disguise where he get's his new idea from watching TV, very similar to a lot of his Ware plots I might add.

I don't see any indication of Ware's supposed non-canon status and don't see why that would ever even possibly be the case.

And let's not forget a few choice references to Wario Land 3 and 4 in Wario's House in Twisted highlighted for your convenience:

  • The Music Box from Wario Land 3
  • A portrait of the Golden Pyramid from Wario Land 4.
It's also been implied Wario's known some of his friends before the events of the first WarioWare. For instance, in the manual for said game, Dribble says he taught Wario how to drive. In another excerpt from the same source, Jimmy states that he and Wario go way back.

I'm no expert on the Wario games, but I recall Mona saying she went on an adventure with Wario for treasure, which could be a reference to the Wario Land Series, implying Wario Land is canon to the Ware series.
