Ever played Virtual Boy WL's hard mode?

Not a lot of people even know that this exists but yes, Virtual Boy Wario Land has a hard mode, a New Game +, so to speak.
It unlocks after you beat the game once. Your old save gets little angels above it as opposed to the usual bats.
Not much actually changes about the actual difficulty though. It mostly just consists of a bunch of spike blocks being placed all over the levels but what I found funny is now the treasures change.
They all sorta become crummier versions of the previous ones.
Like, the Lucky Cat turns into a cheeky Tanooki, the chicken turns into a plucked chicken, the pocket watch becomes an hourglass, etc.

But of course, the biggest difference is that only when beathing this mode do you get the TRUE best ending. S;D

So, anyone else tried it? Or even known it existed? Did you find it hard? Do you think more Wario games should have hard modes?

OMG he's on a flying carpet with a playboy bunny! Holy fuck!!

I've never reached this mode! I have beaten the game on an emulator several times, but I have no recollection of such a mode. Is collecting all the treasures required to unlock this mode? Because I don't think that I ever collected all the treasures in a single play-through. Now I can't wait to get back home to Australia in early January so I can start playing it again (I've been living in Europe for almost a year).

I love how the Wario Land games normally show an absolute ending on the most difficult mode. You just know that you've made the philandering treasure hunter as happy as possible. Just look at final flashback sequence in the S-Hard ending for Wario Land 4:

God I love you Wario.

You have to get all the treasures to unlock it. And yeah, those alternate treasures actually made me chuckle the first time I came across them.
The Demon Head also has an extra attack on hard mode (along with moving extremely fast). He drops spike balls that bounce across the battlefield. Really annoying attack...

Hard mode isn't too difficult really, if you got the best ending first time around you can totally beat it, its just a matter of getting the best ending

I wondered how to get the Playboy bunny ending. VB Wario Land is the only Wario Land I have not 100%'d to oblivion. I love it to death but I'd prefer to play it on a real Virtual Boy instead of an emulator.

Yeah, you can get it in either mode. The only requirements are that you collect all treasures and be at the game in under 1 1/2 hour. And I think you can only get the Demon Head ending on hard mode, but don't quote me on that.
