Not a lot of people even know that this exists but yes, Virtual Boy Wario Land has a hard mode, a New Game +, so to speak.
It unlocks after you beat the game once. Your old save gets little angels above it as opposed to the usual bats.
Not much actually changes about the actual difficulty though. It mostly just consists of a bunch of spike blocks being placed all over the levels but what I found funny is now the treasures change.
They all sorta become crummier versions of the previous ones.
Like, the Lucky Cat turns into a cheeky Tanooki, the chicken turns into a plucked chicken, the pocket watch becomes an hourglass, etc.
But of course, the biggest difference is that only when beathing this mode do you get the TRUE best ending.
