Games you got a bit too caught up in?

Are there any games you got a bit too addicted to, or spent too much time playing at the expense of everything else?

For me, I felt this way about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and the last two Hyrule Warriors games, which I ended up playing constantly upon release to the point of losing track of time altogether.

Also recently Donkey Kong Bananza, since I ended up playing far too much Emerald Rush and again, losing track of time a lot.

I sometimes I have phases where I only play one game for a month or more. Last time that happened to me was back in December for Pizza Tower. But by far, the game I was the most addicted was Super Mario Maker 2 back when it came out. I used to play this game almost everyday from its release until like 2021. Then again, I was like 11 back then so I had way more time to spend.

Definitely Pizza Tower. I got super into it when it launched. The P ranking and chefs tasks definitely brought a lot of replay value to the game. And it was such a fun game to speed run. I speed ran it more times than you can count.

And don't even get me started on all the fun mods.
By far my favourite game of 2023 :gustavobeatspeppino:

I'm not really into Pokemon nor open world survival games, so it's a bit surprising that the combination of these two got me addicted like a drug: I played Palworld non-stop for a while. Then after I stopped I never touched it again. I guess most of the game was just grinding lol.

When I played Freedom Planet 2 it was basically everything I wanted in a 2D platformer, I replayed it almost 4 times in a row.

I started playing Castlevania 64 around 4 years ago and it became my favorite game, I've beaten the game 19 times by now.

I got addicted to a game from my childhood, found in those 00's shovelware CDs, called Blip & Blop. If you ever enjoyed seeing copyright mascots dying in gruesome and ridiculously cartoonish ways, and you like Contra-like gameplay, this game is your heaven. I am the first person documented to pull off a no-damage run 3 years ago and still am ocassially praticing to this day.
