Hmm, seems an unused fish enemy was cut from the original Wario Land game...

Because in these magazine scans featuring the game, you can see an angler fish esque monster in the screenshot in the top right.

So I wonder what it used to be like anyway, or how it used to attack? Cause it reminds me a bit of that other unused fish creature from the second game, the one which only showed up in the original Game Boy version.

I have to wonder if this is where the idea for the electric fish things from WLII came from. The lamp dangling from his head could indicate some sort of electricity attack.

I feel just by looking at it that it'd behave kind of like the WL4 fish, but it'd thrash back and forth (animated in that WL3 sort of way, where there's that sort of pullback as it turns) instead of going in only one direction

I think the idea it used electric attacks seems logical enough. As is the idea it acted as a prototype for those ant like enemies in the next game.
